Hutchison and Perry argued over spending, taxes and the bailout during the debate, an action Jayme Dolan disliked.
"I don't understand how that's appealing and inspires confidence," said Dolan, 30, who became active because of her husband, James Dolan, 34.
After being involved in a car accident, James, 34 began to watch CNN and came across Ron Paul. From that he decided to become politically active and is running for Victoria County Republican Precinct 8 chair.
"It's never too late to get involved and see what's out there," she said.
Benjamin Gossett, 21, who is running for the GOP Precinct 9 chair, said he hopes people look at the responses and the issues before voting on March 2.
"I would like to see people look past the two big names and look at the issues," Gossett said.
