A vote for Brown is hardly a symbolic protest against congressional gridlock and the ways of Washington. It's a vote for gridlock, in the form of endless Republican filibusters, and for the status quo in health care, climate change, and financial regulation. That's what will happen if Brown gives the Republicans the additional vote they need to tie up the Senate

Of course they endorse Coakley.

Not if he kept saying "I support the President" on key issues if he did get elected.

the boston globe has been historically irish-american & democrat,
the boston herald was always very g.o.p and only recently is very
middlebrow. edwin o'conner, who wrote the book "the last hurrah"
was fired from the boston herald on x-mas day of 1953 if memory
serves me correct. spencer tracy was in the movie version of the book!

then again, gridlock sounds pretty appealing particularly considering what is being gridlocked: a bunch of expensive and useless junk
