Months prior to his death, the late great producer Aaron Russo (The Rose, Trading Places) said that if Ron was going to gain traction in the primaries, he needed to start a fight with Giuliani (who had been the early frontrunner)

Russo understood that this would be the best way to get media coverage, but he also knew that Ron was too nice to do it.

Imagine if Ron were to start calling Palin out as a Bush-Cheney neo-con on all these talk shows he's been appearing.

I know it wouldnt happen...but the air time Ron would get would really make him a force.

If we dont confront this bitch head on she'll end up the GOP nominee before the votes are even cast.

It would please the left -- who will most likely never come to our side -- and the right would see it as a compliment to Palin. Not sure if a whole lot of good would come from this.

Yes, but like you said, it won't happen. Ron fights bad ideas; not people.

We need Sarah Palin to catch whatever paranoid neurosis Lindsey Graham has and start attacking Ron.

The goal is to use a Palin counter attack as a vehicle to gain entry into "the top tier"

Ron is big enough now that they cant ignore him....but at the same time, he's not quite on Palin / Romney level either.

He's must induce the big boys into mixing it up with him if he ever hopes to gain top tier status...

nice guys finish last!

Interesting insight on Russo. If he'd lived long enough to counsel Dr. Paul we might have seen the campaign played a bit differently. However, Rudy ended up picking a fight with Dr. Paul and that boil down got us much the same benefit--by fighting a front runner, you get front-line attention. Ended up being a miscalculation on the Ghoul's part.

And we do indeed see Dr. Paul picking a fight with Cheney----in his own polite and indirect way----and Cheney basically RAN from the fight. Dr. Paul is kryptonite now and they know it.

Picking a fight with Palin would seem ungentlemanly and I imagine Palin's minders would URGE her to keep SILENT regarding Dr. Paul as she and others are trying to position to abduct or coopt the movement, the position themselves at the head of the grass roots. It would therefore be political suicide for her to even try.

I guess the only conflict between Paul/Palin would be to draw them into conflict over the ISSUES. The names will be there when that happens. And that's not an IF, it's a WHEN.

Patience young grasshopper?
