House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will have some company next week in Detroit: Organizers of the National Tax Day Tea Party movement are calling for a rally against General Motors outside the 2010 North American International Auto Show.

"Come let Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid hear what you think about the government takeover of General Motors," reads a message on a Facebook event page set up by the group. "They will be in Detroit on Monday and so will we! Will you join us?"

For the record, Reid is not expected to attend the show, but Pelosi is, along with House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood.

Calling the automaker "Government Motors" in a post on the Tea Party group's Web site, organizer Eric Odom decries the federal bailout that allowed GM to emerge from bankruptcy, the resulting government ownership stake in the company and the estimated cost of putting on the auto show.

The contradiction between Pelosi's visit and the groups protest is not without precedent.

A similar scene unfolded last year when union workers protested outside Cobo shortly after hundreds of GM-hired "enthusiasts" held "Here to Stay" signs as Bob Lutz cruised down an aisle in a Chevy Volt.

The auto show opens to the media on Monday and to the public on Jan. 16.

I hope ALL the counter parties come out to protest/oppose Socialist/Marxist Pelosi. Not just the Tea Party. I think this will back fire on Pelosi, but expect Security to be high, the Elitists to sneak in a back door, and I'm sure liberal MSM will blackout the protesters, but PUSH this Well Conjured Up Propaganda move all over. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and others will meet with company executives, state and local leaders and tour vehicle displays Monday at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, one of the auto industry's annual showcases.

Pelosi said they would visit Detroit "to see firsthand the innovative technologies the industry is investing in to create the jobs of the future and to ensure our national competitiveness. We go to Detroit with our commitment to continue to preserve our manufacturing base, which is essential to our economic and national security."

Lawmakers frequently visit the auto show but organizers said they received more interest from Washington this year, only months after the government steered General Motors Co. and Chrysler LLC through bankruptcy helped by billions in federal aid. GMAC, a key lender to GM and Chrysler dealers and customers, recently received its third taxpayer-funded bailout.

"This year we were swamped with additional requests," said Doug Fox, the auto show's chairman. Fox said the auto show created a separate gray-colored credential because of the large demand from lawmakers and administration officials, distinguishing them from credentials issued to journalists, auto dealers and car company employees and executives.

With steep declines in auto sales and massive job losses, the Obama administration has awarded billions in funding for car companies to retool their auto plants to build more fuel-efficient cars, provided grants to spur the development of advanced batteries and pushed retraining programs for laid-off auto workers.

Pelosi, who was invited to the show by Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., will meet with Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm and Detroit Mayor Dave Bing and is expected to be joined by members of her House leadership team and members of Michigan and Ohio's congressional delegation. Sen. Tom Carper, D-Del., who has visited the show in past years, will also visit the exhibits.

LaHood and Labor Secretary Hilda Solis will represent the administration, which will include officials with the Transportation Department and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The two agencies oversee regulations for the industry involving fuel efficiency, safety and tailpipe emissions.

The auto show will feature 60 vehicle debuts and attract more than 5,000 journalists from 50 countries. The exhibit at Detroit's Cobo Center will include a 37,000-square foot venue called "Electric Avenue," featuring electric vehicles and prototypes from a dozen manufacturers.

I'm sure there will be some Youtube and if there is some Youtube of some bad behavior on the part of Union Members with the bad press they have been getting and rightly so via Beck, I think we could be looking at a Fuse rather than a protest.

Wranglings of that CNN reporter/instigator at the Chicago Tax Tea party comes to mind. Expect the same from MSNBC/NBC Chris Mathews, Kieth Olberman, Rachel Maddow, Mr ED, along with the other Payola Networks, especially CNN/ABC.

"The Elitists visit Despotism, Lookout For Own Self Interests" that should be the title.

There needs to be tons of cameras rolling... The FUSE will be lit on around the 10th/11th.

Everyone open carry and it'll be peaceful. The group I'm apart of up here is planning to protest the Oshkosh MIC truck producer pretty soon, we are also trying to put together a huge open carry rally/protest (looking at trying to get at least 1,000+ OC with 3,000+ participants).

DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE CONTROL YOUR ACTIONS! You are free-men. If you let these people control what you do you've all ready lost. If you can't stand up to the thug unions how do you expect to stand up to the Government?
