Yea, I just got what they were doing. They basically drawing parallels from the book to the current situation we're in the country.

If you have a certain personal belief or style that wasn't imposed on others she would at the worst disagree with you.

That was a terrific show!

I wish we could get Stossel on FOX News so that more people could get exposed to a real small-gov't message.

Yeah... what sealed it for the average person was Stossel's epilogue...

Exactly. Lose Beck or O'Reilly and put Stossel on.
I used to like O'Reilly, mainly because of his unabashed crustiness, but I really was not impressed the other night when Stossel was on his show. Every time Stossel began to go into analysis, Bill would cut him off and try to reframe the issue to fit more of the neocon Patriot Act perspective. BO is bad about interrupting people when they just begin to get detailed or interesting.

I really disrespect that sort of debate tactic; steamrolling.

This new Ayn Rand revival has me worried. Imagine a nation of INDIVIDUALS. What a crazy thought!

Maybe you can help. I like the Ayn Rand novels because of the poetry of the anti-hero who ascends to greatness through no other influence but their own will to power (borrowed that one). I also relate to the way in which the character nuance reveals the lengths other characters or polities go to to impose themselves on the individual.

I don't subscribe to any Rand Objectivist group and I do not call myself a Randite. However, I do plug Atlas Shrugged because it is the perfect commentary on statist thinking.

Here's my question now. What would be the platform differences between a Rand party and the libertarian party and between a Ron Paul party. I understand and support using the Republican party to put Ron Paul politicians in office, but if this succeeded, how would the three parties be different?

Rand

Libertarian

Paul
