"GOP Leadership hates Palin, likes Romney"

That statement could be reversed to "GOP Leadership hates Romney, likes Palin" and I would harbor the same level of contempt.

Of course, since the leadership loves socialist RINOs like Romney. Not to forget what he did for Massachussets.

Legality of health insurance mandate questioned
http://www.miamiherald.com/569/story/1402509.html

The requirement is similar to a 2006 Massachusetts law signed by then-Gov. Mitt Romney. The 2008 GOP presidential contender compared it to drivers who must buy car insurance.

Romney is a Liberal "Whispering" Fascist RINO.

polls already indicate 16% of Americans won't vote for a Mormon... does the GOP want to go with that Handicap? Or is this another MSM dichotomy game for the masses quarrel over?

Romney is Sleaze, but he buys the best MSM pricing coverage.

Wow. 16% of Americans are too dumb to live, apparently. I thought the number'd be a lot higher.

Yep. +1.

And it's why changing the GOP leadership needs to be largely done before 2012, and obviously as much as possible in 2010.

I don't like Romney but his religion shouldn't play a part. I remember Ron Paul saying how stupid it was that Mitt's religion was even part of the debate during the run up to the election.

Romney is a venture capitalist who made his fortune buying healthy US companies then shipping all their jobs and manufacturing overseas while pocketing the profits until the company went bankrupt and was sold. He's the banker's best friend.

He's perfect for today's Presidency. No wonder the GOP loves him.

Well. I suggest you take it up with the people that were polled.

Reviewing polls over the years, "not voting for a Mormon" ranges anywhere from 10-28% depending on who conducted the poll/survey/people/circumstance.

It's in inevitable no matter what you are...

The GOP leadership is in big trouble. I don't particularly care who they hate or don't hate. I just want them to continue becoming ever more irrelevant. We are contributing greatly to their demise.

I don't hate either of them. I would absolutely never vote for Romney. He's way too liberal.

I wouldn't vote for Palin either. I don't particulary like Palin's foreign policy views, but at least she's not an elitist like the last few presidents we've had. I would much rather be governed by salt of the earth than Ivy League snob.

BAIN CAPITAL... Romney's Achilles Heel

You forgot the Over-Funded Pensions that BAIN CAPITAL raided/pocketed, turned them upside down and shook every nickel out of them. Of Course there were big Fat Golden Parachutes to the executives that sold out.

Here's a Blog on Romney "FRAUD"

The GOP big shots do not hate Palin! They are terrified of her. They know they can't control her and they also know that Romney will toe the party line and do as he is told.

I wish I were as confident of this as you. I think it is very possible that she is essentially an agent for the GOP. They intend to use her to bring the tea party people back to the rank and file. She will appear to be a rogue libertarian type, lure millions of supporters, then (at the end of the primaries) endorse the GOP party favorite and send all of those votes his way. She will be rewarded with a cabinet position or VP slot.

She's headlining the Tea Party Convention thingie and that's all I need to know. How can the GOP be scared of someone they picked as the 2008 VP nominee? That makes no sense whatsoever. I agree that she is being used as the bait to bring the Tea Party types back to the GOP. Thats not to say that most Tea Partiers strayed all that far in the first place though. They have to be reeled in now before it gets worse.

I hated Romney the most of the GOP candidates. How can people vote for someone that looks like a used car salesman? Then they'd probably have the nerve to be surprised when Romney goes full-liberal on them.

I always got the impression that McCain was just using her to get votes and that he really despised her.

Just look at the throwing under the bus that took place after he lost.

Because they don't think she is intelligent, because she alienates liberal / middle types, and because they cannot control her due to her immense popularity.

...................... and because they cannot control her due to her immense popularity.

I disagree. She is easily controlled and I can prove it. Throngs of grass roots supporters do not gain you $100K speaking gigs or multi-million dollar book deals. This type of compensation comes from the establishment. If you don't believe me, just ponder why the Bush daughters get big $$$ for book deals when they have nothing to offer intellectually. These are bribes and payoffs occurring out in the open and everyone falls in line for the big $$$$.

Palin's popularity is completely manufactured. At any given time, 20% of our population (plus Virgil47) would vote for the next Hitler given the right marketing. This neo-Hitler happens to look good in a skirt, which helps out even more.

Absolutely wrong.

Palin is VERY popular. I know this because I'm involved in grassroots conservatism and I can tell you almost everyone who considers themselves a conservative supports her. In fact their face lights up every time I mention her name. Her support is not manufactures it is genuine which means she can do whatever she wants. And it does not take an establishment to get a book deal. She has a following, millions bought her book, and the publishers knew it would be a best seller, so they were all clamoring to get her a deal.

Did you watch the video "What is Sarah Palin"?

I'm on dial-up out here in the rural bunker, so no video for me.

If what you describe about the grassroots popularity of Palin is true, then we are ripe for the picking by the next Hitler/Stalin. We've all seen the film from the 30's where all the faces light up when they see Hitler.

Book deals are payoffs. Millions of copies of Hillary's book were printed and are stored unsold in warehouses and given away as free tokens for DNC donations. The Bush girls probably make faces light up too. That must make them qualified for public office too.

We've all seen the film from the 30's where all the faces light up when they see Hitler.Of course we are. One of the largest reasons Hitler was voted in was because of the inflation at the time in an attempt to pay off the war debt with cheap currency.

The Bush girls probably make faces light up too. That must make them qualified for public office too. This book deal was not a payoff. Trust me I know several people who have purchased this book that are your standard run-of-the-mill conservatives.

I'm not really passing judgement on Palin, I honestly don't know much about her, but she is very popular on the ground with the People - that means she can write her own ticket.
