We all know that the evangelicals are not satisfied with Romney, Giuliani, Mccain, of Thompson, so is it time that we started targeting these voters?

The majors points that it seems evangelicals care about are:

1. Abortion
2. Gay marriage
3. Family values (long-lasting marriage)
4. Homeschooling/prayer in school

In all four of these issues, Ron Paul has the same ideas as these voters, and this is a huge group yet to be tapped. Here is an article about Christians suggesting a third-party candidate if Giuliani is nominated: http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/09/30/christan-conservatives-consider-third-party-effort/ If this is true shouldn't we be focusing energy in advertising in Christian literature and television?

I love how Ron Paul appeals to a heavy duty social liberty, atheist like me, and these (pardon me) rationally deficient, country folk.

They don't realize how much they love him--yet.

I think you're right, I think it is time to start targeting them and you lay out the case quite nicely.

Distributing a statement of faith ( http://www.covenantnews.com/ronpaul070721.htm ) bundled with a Slim Jim in the parking lots of your area churches would be a great place to start!

FYI, these are the guidelines used by many churches to determine how they can be involved politically:

Ah yes, because it is very rational to make blanket statements about an entire group of people, as if you are somehow more of an individual than a "values voter", who are all, according to a rational atheist mind such as yourself, ignorant country folks. I hope people realize that the vast majority of these sorts of "values voters" are not homophobic, ravenous fundamentalist country bumpkins, but rather they are your normal, friendly next door suburban neightbor who lets your borrow his power tools and invites you in for a free lunch. But of course, the rational atheists know better than me, so im obviously wrong.

Now now, that wasn't nice, and it certainly wasn't an accurate portrayal of most "country folk." I know what you're saying, but it would have gone over better without the namecalling. That said, yes, it's nice that Dr. Paul appeals to all sorts of different folks! :)

I'm sure that's what he meant to say. ;)

Well, um, how would YOU sell them on turning abortion back to the states and ceasing government recognition of partnerships both heterosexual and homosexual?
