phill4paul

Please post all ideas here to create an effective moneybomb page for Glen Bradley, our own GunnyFreedom!

Tentative date to be set on Feb. 14th.

I have enlisted a cohort to create a page for Gunny and will be putting it together this Sunday.

All ideas are welcome.

This is grassroots at its best so come on people and help us deliver a moneybomb site worthy of RPFs.

Any and all suggestions are welcome!

HERE IT IS IN MOCK UP FORM:

How about the mon-fri donate $1 and double each day..

Monday put aside $1
Tuesday put aside $2
Wednesday put aside $4
Thursday put aside $8
Friday put aside $16..

Donate it all on Friday or Saturday.. total is $31... everybody can do that.

OK! I see a theme here.

Judge Napolitano's show. #1 how is that accomplished? If someone can handle that then SWEET!

Next thing though which is kinda the point. Even if he were on the show what kinda website for a money bomb would you like to see?

Anything? From colors to design?

The old red, white and blue? I'm partial to the Marine red and gold integrated.

It's a brainstorm...

A play on dates?

Gunny has intimated Maybury vs. Madison.

Any and all thoughts are appreciated.

But, by any means get him on Napolitano!:)

Very interesting twist Mike. I'm kinda liking it. Kinda like the cost of a Starbucks coffee per day over a week.

Maybe able to create a pledge kinda think w/ an e-mail reminder every day. Hmmm..I don't know I'll have to run it by the designer.

Very interesting indeed!

Yes.

LoveBomb? :)

and yes.

Thanks.

And love the "GunnyMoney" Casey.:) Maybe not on the website but that's what we should call it here on RPFs...

Which leads me to something else...

Once the page is set up where else can we link it to. What other Liberty websites would be open to Gunnys message and understand the importance of states rights?

There are a few people who do facebook and myspace promotion, also if you can make a youtube promotion video and downloadable graphics advertising it that will make promotion easier. Try to get an interview on some of the other radio shows-local am & internet radio, and interviews with some of the popular youtube bloggers.

You're not allowed to have a booth at the gun show, but are you allowed to be in the parking lot, flags flying, literature at the ready, conspicuous but not causing a disturbance? Can you tailgate outside the gun shows? Could you donate something interesting to a raffle they are having, just to get your name out there (but not what you're running for, etc.; just your name so you don't violate any rules)?

Those were campaign ideas... figured I'd put them somewhere other than where I stuck them initially.

I'm not sure what the rules are in different places for fundraisers. I do know that for charities we used to sell food in various parking lots (burgers, hotdogs, etc.) and probably half of the people only stopped because they smelled grilled food. They left with food, drink, and literature.

As for moneybomb info, I think the website needs to be pretty straight-forward, especially if he is going to be marketing himself to voters at large and people who aren't necessarily familiar with the movement or "money bomb" donations, etc..

I'm trying to stay out of this as best I can, taking a page from Ron Paul himself, and since historically I have seen that the more a moneybomb comes from the grassroots up the better it does, and the more a moneybomb has involvement from the candidate or the campaign, often the worse it does... but one skill I have is photoshop, and since the theme is generally agreed to be around Valentines day, I cobbled together a logo. I can mod/change/update this super easy:

http://glenbradley.net/nchouse2010/files/gbrevsm.gif

Don't think my lack of involvement in this thread is lack of interest -- it's not by any means. I'm just trying to follow Ron Paul's example and stay out of this as much as I can, :)

And thanks guys!

Friday evening bump! Thanks for the good ideas folks and keep them coming, please.
I've taken everyone's suggestions into account and am beginning to formulate an plan.
I won't know what the designer is capable of doing until Sunday when I meet with him, however he came highly recommended from a friend that owns an ad agency.

So please keep it up.

I think it kinda humorous to be a Valentines money bomb... and haven't been able to get the "Love American style" theme outta my head.

Thanks. Well, it's on us to get as many people as we can to donate. Even if it's $5 or $10, that means a lot more in a State House Race than it does in a U.S. Congress race.

Yeah. We all know him as GunnyFreedom here. And I think there is a resonance in that.

I've been kinda kicking around an idea but I don't know how to tweak it just so.

It comes from the old saying "You get what you pay for."

Something along the lines of ....

"Lobbyists for corporations and special interests donate hundreds of thousands of dollars to political campaigns with the knowledge that they will be the beneficiaries of their recipients political votes.

There is only one way to break this chain of corrupt and bought off politicians.

The people must participate and be the backers of those who would stand for the people. Those who would be backed by the people. Those who come from the people."

Or something to that affect. Remember this is just a brainstorm session so feel free to throw out whatever hits ya.

Anything and everything is open as it may lead to a new train of thought.

I'll write and re-write some of the ideas tomorrow after work and then Sunday put together a working page with the designer. And then probably flesh it out again after I have run it by Gunny.

You guys are awesome, I've been telling Glen for weeks that I would contribute after the new year, I just did so today to the tune of $100. I guess I should have checked in here before doing that, but it's all good and going to a good cause.

Wow, thanks Pat!

I have been purchasing lots of materials before, but have been holding off for now, since I have to make my filing fee. I am glad you didn't wait until Feb 14th, as the filing window opens on Feb 8th -- and I had spent everything on signs, stickers, buttons, materials and website template. Thanks to your $100, that should put us within about $40 of making the filing fee for February 8th. I am quite confident in being able to make up the rest of that between now and then.

BTW -- I'm thinking about setting up an event where people can come join me when I officially file for office on Feb 8th, maybe take video etc to post on YouTube and on the website...

phill4paul
01-10-2010, 05:59 PM
OK. After spending about 5 hrs with the designer we were able to come up with a mock up of ideas and I purchased a domain.

I know nothing about websites but my designer said to include the HTML for a pledge, its correlation to a thermometer etc. we would have to actually create the site. Something about which came first, the chicken or the egg. LOL. It's awesome watching someone work in HTML.

I'm gonna burn him for being a wizard. :p

Anyway as soon as the domain and site comes through I will link it here.

From there please give your advise and I have asked for one more session to make any changes based on input.

Looks great to me! Doesn't need to have all the goo-gaws and whatsits like Adam Kokesh's moneybomb -- those would distract from the purpose. About the only thing left that would be crazy useful you already mentioned, some kind of feedback to denote how much has been pledged so far (ie thermometer)

Hey Brandonyates thanks a lot!

I would ask that anyone else that pledges not do so quite yet.

I still need to link the thermometer. I wouldn't have even put it up yet except the developer said we had to to put in the pledge HTML.

Consider this a working copy, yet not finalized yet.

The pledges are going to e-mail retention program but until we get the thermometer set up I don't know if pledges will be integrated.

I know nothing about this stuff and the guy I am working with is killing me with his wizardry. When I first got into advertising we still learned mock up in "marker-comps". You must be looking at the wrong site.

Try going to http://glenbradley.net/ and click on the big red "donate" button at top right.

1) my donation page has the snailmail address of the campaign treasurer, for people who prefer to send check or money order.

2) my donation page does not request your CC# at all, instead, it sends you to PayPal which collects your CC data on a secure page, where I never even see it.

If you are referring to the moneybomb site (http://fortheloveofliberty.com/) rather than my donation page, that site does not collect CC info either, so I really do not know what you mean.

I do appreciate the thoughtfulness involved in being willing to donate though! :)

E-mails of pledges are going to storage for mass email on Valentines Day for reminders. So things seem to be looking good.

That rocks! Very nice looking thermometer, I must say. I wonder tho if the moneybomb target should be the $20k (or $20,100 lol) that we have for my 1st quarter goal tho -- no way I expect the whole $100k in on 14Feb! I mean, if it IS, that's like a guaranteed win... especially with the press that would generate... but that's a huge amount.

OK. Should have that corrected by tomorrow evening. I'll see about having it set at $20,100. Even after the initial bomb I still have the site for a year and we can discuss additional funding ideas and how it can serve you.

Thanks guys -- sometimes I am angry at myself because I am not a politician. I don't know how to go around begging for donations. If I were a dam politician like my opponent, I'd probably be over 20k by now :( I keep publishing this everywhere I go, but I just don't know the magic words that will compel people to give money.

What I DO know is that unless I can figure it out and make this work, we're gonna end up with the same failed representation here that we have had for a decade, we're not going to get redistricting done to really threaten Mel Watt in CD-12, and we're not going to have anybody in the State House who will work to demand a restoration of the US Constitutional order.

Doesn't mean I'll give up though. I'll never give up. And I'll never give in to the lure of banksters and lobbyists for easy campaign financing either.

As of right now (9:52 EST) we are looking at $260

Any further pledge updates? Gunny is almost on page 2 on the Freedom Watch suggestion front. Also, by clearing all of your cookies, you can vote more than once. :)

EDIT: Is the current amount posted on the website? (Currently says $460).

Also, to Gunny, any donations besides all of those on that other thread?

Bump. He is still on page two and he needs more than 577 votes to get to page one.

Keep in mind that clearing your cookies allows for multiple voting. :)

EDIT: Should Gunny get in touch with the Judge or the Fox staff? I'm thinking that would help.

Would you believe that completely unsolicited, the former chair of the County GOP and current maintainer of the County GOP website has promoted the fortheloveofliberty moneybomb with a mailout? :D

Going on FreedomWatch with the Judge would be like a dream come true!! (Not to mention all the coolness that would ensue from an embed on my site...lol)
