Yup...you heard it here, folks. Jim Traficant nabbed his own local talk radio show, to begin on weekends for a trial run, with options for national expansion!

The show can be heard on a live stream Saturdays from 1 to 4 p.m. (Cleveland time) on this station:

In some respects, he could sway more power as a talk radio host. Though it is always good to have one more vote, couldn't he gather a larger national following as a talk show host? He can only do so much as one Congressmen. But through his talk show he can help show the light to average Americans who understand something is wrong but just don't quite get it yet. He could be a great educator. That said, if he could somehow do both, that would be fantastic.

Yeah, it does sometimes seem like the persuaders and popularizers of political ideas have a lot more sway than the politicians themselves. That's why I try to remind all my libertarian friends who think they have to go to Washington to affect change that the movement is in just as dire need for journalists, essayists, radio talkers, satirists, playwrights, musicians, attorneys, novelists, etc.

I like Jim. I think his political career is over forever but he can change alot of hearts and minds on the radio. I was hoping that Rush really was having a heart attak but it looks like he will be back on the air waves again. Houston talk radio sucks.

Walter Williams and Thomas Sowell were on Rush at the same time the other day. It was GLORIOUS.

Sincerely,

Slutter McGee

I've always wondered that and I'm not sure on the answer. Rush has an audience of 20 million, but do they share his views because they listen to him? Or do they listen to him because they share his views?

In other words if Rush wasn't on their air would they vote differently/ would their political opinions be different.? My guess is they would be pretty much the same...

I would only listen if he says "BEAM ME UP!" at least once every 10 minutes.

Jim is very popular in NE Ohio. He will pull a good audience here and I would not be surprised if he moves to a weekday slot rather quickly.

If the Tea Party wasn't infected with the pro war agenda, Trafficant would be a good leader - even if he is a dem.

Show starts tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to hearing what the guy's been up to, and his thoughts on current events.

Happy listening!

Decent show. Ron Paul, abolishing the IRS, abolishing the Fed and some other good stuff came up as usual, and he talked to some Libertarians running for office in Ohio, but he didn't really talk about anything in depth or say anything too noteworthy. He said this was a introductory show and next week he will go into detail about abolishing the IRS and reforming our tax system.

There's a page for podcasts
http://wtam.com/cc-common/ondemand/ (http://wtam.com/cc-common/ondemand/)
but I don't see anything about Jim's show even mentioned on the website so I don't know if there will be a podcast. I'll keep an eye out.
