Tea Party head warns GOP of Florida repeat

A founder of the Tea Party movement said Wednesday he had a warning for Republican leaders: Back conservative candidates or else other states will suffer the same backlash that toppled Florida's Republican Party chairman this week.

"We are turning our guns on anyone who doesn't support constitutional conservative candidates," said Dale Robertson, who operates TeaParty.org out of Houston and helped start the movement nearly two years ago.

He declined to say which states where next on the Tea Party's hit list. He said party leaders in those states would be warned privately, but the movement's wrath "will be very clear publicly" if they don't listen.

"If they continue to do things like they did in Florida, it's not going to be good for them," Mr. Robertson said. "If they don't get that and their party chairmen don't get that, they are going to be ostracized."

In Florida, a struggle between conservative activists and the Republican Party establishment forced state GOP Chairman Jim Greer to quit Tuesday. He blamed his decision on activists who he said "turned their guns on fellow Republicans instead of focusing our efforts on defeating Democrats."

Mr. Greer had been under fire for backing Gov. Charlie Crist, considered a moderate in the party who last year praised President Obama's $787 billion stimulus plan, in the race for the Republican nomination for Senate over former state House Speaker Marco Rubio, who is supported by the Tea Party movement.

The chairman's resignation headed off a party meeting Saturday where he expected to face fierce opposition from conservative activists.

Mr. Robertson planned to deliver the warning in a phone call Wednesday to National Republican Committee Chairman Michael S. Steele, who a day earlier said he supported the Tea Party activists and that he didn't think their movement had caused a schism in the Republican Party.

Democrats say the tension between the Tea Party and mainstream Republicans is a "civil war" that will undermine Republicans' hopes for significant gains in the mid-term elections in November.

This guy has been trying to hijack the tea party movement by buying domain names.

He feels that since he went to Washington and stood in the cold for a few days with a sign he has been part of the early Tea Party movement.

Here is a picture of Dale Robertson that just surfaced in the past few days:

Doesn't really seem like someone you would want to be a spokesman for the tea party movement, someone that is pretty comfortable with using the word "niggar". Tea partiers get enough crap about being a bunch of racists.

Something tells me, he never left "service" to his country.

Someone living off of his retirement check isn't going to spend $4,000 for a domain name without that money coming from another source.

out one neo-con ,in with another neo-con, nothing has changed really...

time to hold the gop accountable and vote all neo-cons out...

tea party is a fad,not that the gop is an option really, but sooner or later the ron paul republicans will have to unite the 3rd partys and create a new brandname and platform, until then i predict the gop will be the same ole useless neo-con gop it is and has been, but i guess never say never.

we need a uniting platform and Ron Paul proved it could be done or i wouldn't be a registered republican, but after 2 yrs of activist work.

the gop has serious credibility problems and brand name problems, not sure the gop is fixable..
As a Republican ,i will keep the gop in check in colorado until they shape up...

He's been on C-SPAN's Washington Journal a few times... it's been a 50/50 split on callers supporting him and opposing him.

Yeah, where was he on the snow stormed night when it all began? The REAL TEA PARTY.

Rachel Maddow showed this picture on her show, just before Ron Paul was interviewed. Here is the thread with the YouTube link to that program: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=225587

He should have just said "slave" instead of "niggar". People in this movement need to use a little common sense.

Regarding this thread topic: The tea party movement needs to seriously create a new political party if the Republican Party refuses to reform. Get the Libertarian Party, Constitution Party, independents and any other free market libertarian leaning organizations together and put the Republicans out of business.

the tea party will not create a new party. they will just be part of a new political coalition that will involve many of the 3rd parties and uniting voters across party lines, maybe a Liberty Party with a new platform uniting all the liberty factions creating a viable 2nd party and making the gop a marginalized 3rd party..we will have to wait and see,i see the gop corruption trying to hi-jack the tea parties. plus doesnt help to have leaders of the tea party ,who are racists and cannot spell.

tea party does not cut it for me....... tea party folks remind me of the blinded beck fans from 9-12 and the neo-cons in the republican party..

neo-con republicans can turn gold into crap will quick, this i have noticed.....

neo-con replacing a neo-con, only option now is to stop voting for them and expel them from office....

This was just e-mailed to me from one of the Ron Paul Republicans that Greer purged:

Like the old saying goes, 'You can tell a lot about a person by the company that they keep.' The RPOF likes to keep very expensive company.

That's why they love lobbyists so much. They're the only ones that can pay the bills.

First their was current (soon to be ex) Chairman Jim Greer. Though not technically registered as a lobbyist, he knew every corporate telephone number in Florida. And he could both raise and spend LOTS of money.

Then Gov. Crist (no slouch when greenbacks were involved) appointed his number one lobbyist friend George LeMieux as interim US Senator. Wow, a very expensive lobbyist representing Floridians under the big D.C. dome.

Now we are going to be treated to yet ANOTHER lobbyist representing the corporate, er, people's interests. His name is John Thrasher and he heads the richest and most expensive lobbying firm in Florida.

He recently bought, er, won a special election to the Florida State Senate. In addition he'll now be the state chairman of the Florida Republican party.

Such a deal!

Since the Florida Senate only meets for three months out of the year, now he'll have something to do with the other nine! The opportunities to shake the money trees will only be limited by John-John's ingenuity.

Listen up folks. A lot of us Republicans continue with these quaint ideas of 'taking over the Republican Party.' The sad truth is that we both came late to the ball AND inappropriately dressed.

The party bureaucrats have no intention of allowing us conservative activists into this celebration of wealth and power.

But take heart. We have a brand new party that is for those that care more about principle then alphabet letters.

Marco Rubio is a closet RINO snake oil salesman. He is using the Tea Party movement to get elected.

But Rubio, (like Steele and Grayson) is an agent of the globalist socialist Aspen Institute.

The Democratic Underground used that picture as a smear campaign. It really is very embarassing to dedicated members of the tea party movement. I wonder how much the Corruptacrats are paying this man to discredit the movement?
