Columbia, SC (AP) -- U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham says a South Carolina county Republican Party's decision to censure him is misguided and the result of fringe Ron Paul supporters.

Graham said Tuesday that the 13-7 vote for censure from the Lexington County GOP because of his work with Democrats on immigration and climate change does not mesh with his conservative voting record.

Graham also said he's proud of solving problems by working with Democrats.

It's the second time since November that Republicans in a South Carolina county have voted to censure the GOP senator.

Experts don't believe the censures will have lasting effects. Graham was re-elected in 2008 with 58 percent of the vote.

Someone called him out for being a RINO, so it must be those real conservative Paul types.

Lyndsey Graham is a progressive, i.e., socialist. This man needs to be kicked out of the Senate.

And I will never or have I ever voted for the guy.

from the last paragraph:

“You have these Ron Paul guys show up and try to take over the party,” the senator said. “They are not reflective of the Republican Party. And I hope this serves as a wakeup call to Republicans that they need to get involved.”
