We're right where we need to be but it doesn't stop here. We need to give, give, give as much as we possibly can this quarter. We need to dig as deep as we can, be as unselfish as we can be. We need to hit the 12 million dollar goal. We are going to do it, we will win this thing!!!

The media (surprisingly) has not criticized the 5 million as not being good enough. What are they going to say when we overtake the top tier Republicans???

We've got them on their backs about to finish them off with the leg drop!

Keep up the good work everybody!

Yep,

All this good feeling right now is a result of the MSM finally acknowledging RP. This is due almost completely to the campaign efforts, and in no small part our efforts to give generously. Yet, We need to give more, need to continue to shock the pundits and "experts". Otherwise they'll label him and the message a flash in the pan. This is no flash, it feels more like a Hydrogen Bomb.

Let's keep giving generously of our money, time and energy for - insert last word spoken by william wallace in braveheart.

Problem is, I'm maxed out at the 2300. Is everyone else maxed out? Credit cards are easy to come by. This will be the best "debt" in your life.

11,500,000 = 2,300 * 5,000

You mean to tell me all of these people maxed out? no way.

40,000 people.

92,000,000 = 2,300 * 40,000

Its completely possible people. Whats a couple grand sacrifice of debt for a once in a life time shot?

2300 only for the primary. 4600 if you're married.

Jkaufmann, as commendable a thing it is for your gratuity, understand that so much more of us have more to give. Myself included. I'm making it a habbit to give 50$ each paycheck. Maybe not everybody can afford that, but even 25$ a paycheck is a monster help. The main thing is the consistency. The money surge has to continue on a rampant pace, we can't expect it all to come in from new recruits to the cause. They are going to help, sure, but ultimately the funds are going to be coming from the same people who have been here and giving all along.

I'm pretty sure that once we reach that 1,000,000 mark things will pick up quickly. Right now the number looks low so people are a little discouraged. If we pick up the pace a little and push for 500,000 by saturday others will go all in as well.

It's all about pacing ourselves, finding new donors, and setting our own goals within the meetups. This is the part of the race where real organization starts to really help.

Also, ask your friends if they have a dingy old pair of shoes which they would like to sell to you for an arbitrary price of $2300.

Also, everyone make sure to get out there on the 13th for the March. Take a laptop and solicit contributions from people that seem interested. Take the donations on-site.

They DEFINITELY need to make the statue of liberty counter live like they did with the thermometer.

Why arent they doing this? I think it really helps when people can see their own donation change the total. Its like a power thing, and might make them donate more often.

Anyone agree?

It is livish. You don't have to update the page. The quicker the live refresh rate, the more Ron Paul pays in bandwidth. Make sure to close the window or tab when you're not at your computer.

Well, not quite as completely. The refresh for the widget is set much lower on this one than the original thermometer.

Still think the counter should set weekly goals, instead of monthly goals, and that it should take into consideration that we'll likely get more donations in the later weeks than we will in the early weeks. Not reaching the first few milestones ($4 million in October) may take away some of the steam. On the other hand, what do I know. I didn't think we'd make $500k in a week. Maybe setting our goal high for the first month will result in actually taking in $4 million in October, and possibly $6 or more in November and December.

Don't be so cavalier with other people's economic situation. If you have to pay that debt back at up to 32% (the most I have seen so far on a credit card) then that is insane. Don't do that to yourself. Ron Paul wouldn't want you to. A lot of kids on here don't realize what "maxing" out a credit card really means and how much they really have to pay back. That 2300 can turn into four or five times that by the time it is paid back. Plus, they can be put in a hole they will never climb out of.

Give what you can. That is all anyone can ask.

The fundraising is incredibly sluggish, compared to how fast we raised the million.
