Spencer Bachus (R-AL), the current Ranking Member of the House Financial Services Committee, is ineffectual and a statist. I documented his failing in my latest BigGovernment.com article at http://biggovernment.com/2010/01/04/support-for-big-government-a-bad-bet-for-the-gop. It's at Digg as well, at http://digg.com/political_opinion/Support_for_Big_Government_a_Bad_Bet_for_the_GOP.

We need someone who believes in limited government and freedom to represent the GOP on this important committee. Dr. Paul is on the committee, where he serves as the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Domestic Monetary Policy and Technology. It's time to promote Dr. Paul, and it's time to promote liberty and freedom. :D

If you have a Republican congressman, please call him/her and inform him/her that it's time for Bachus to go!

Sounds good to me!

The first comment on the Digg submission is one stating that Dr. Paul should be the Ranking Member. If you agree, please remember to give that comment a "thumbs up."

Anyone else think we ought to try to get Bachus replaced with Paul? Bachus was almost removed in 2008 (http://www.politico.com/blogs/thecrypt/1208/No_confidence_vote_likely_on_Bachus_as_ranking_GOP er_on_Financial_Services.html), so it's not like it's impossible.
