While I like Traficant quite a bit I would never go that far. Ron has a clear concise consistent philosophy. Traficant is all over the place.

Traficant isn't all over the place, he has very consistent principles, like Dr. Paul, which have guided him throughout his political career

I like Traficant's stance on Israel and Immigration much better than Paul's. For me, foreign policy and immigration are the two big issues. Traficant will point his finger at the Israeli Lobby and yell bloody murder...that's the type of leader we need. Plus he would use our troops to defend our southern border from invasion. that is something a president can do. A president can't get rid of all the federal government goodies that draws the 3rd world in (like Paul proposes).

Still, I can respect those who support Dr. Paul as their #1...he is a fine man and I believe would make an excellent leader.

OTOH, there were a lot of founders and early American political leaders who were like Traficant. Hamilton and Burr dueled. Jackson, Benton and Houston were among the many senators who fought duels.

Jackson caned Benton on the street in Nashville, and Benton shot him. Benton, knowing that if he stayed in Tennessee, either he or Old Hickory would have to die, removed himself to Missouri. Elected five times to the Senate from Missouri, he became Jackson's strongest supporter in the Senate.

When Jackson was elected President, a fellow Senator asked Benton if he knew Jackson. "Know him? I'll say I know him well. I shot him once!"

There ain't no Andy Jacksons or Thomas Bentons around today, but Traficant comes closer than anyone else in politics.

I like Traficant...of course he is going to be dispised by the zionists...but he does have the gonads to speak UP. Jim Traficant is unlike any other politician in this country today. Traficant actually talks about the U.S. Constitution and what it means and why (and how) it’s being ignored. He says that the tax system needs to be overhauled, that the IRS needs to be (and can be) eliminated and that a new tax system can supply all the revenue America needs to function without raping the taxpayers every April 15.

Sorry, but I call bullshit. Dr. Paul is very well known and is most CERTAINLY an outspoken critic of how our government does NOT follow the US Constitution. Now, I doubt Mr. Trafficant wrote that (or, if he did, he needs to be reminded that its a patently false statement).

Would I vote for him? Sure. If it came down to the wire and I had to pick between him and Paul for some reason, I'd pick Paul. I don't think that'd ever happen, though, so unless there's some dire need for us to pick a single man for us to declare our undying loyalty for I don't see a reason to squabble.
