Holy shit.

Cafferty file question:

Should more people listen to Ron Paul?

Cafferty gave a list of Ron's suggestions, AND for the FIRST TIME mentioned that he's been married to the SAME WOMAN for OVER FIFTY YEARS.

Email address is caffertyfile@cnn.com

here it is:

People would pay more attention to Ron Paul if they simply paid more attention to the destructive path which our country is taking. Unlike other candidates, Ron Paul understands what is happening to our Constitutional rights. Unlike other candidates, Ron Paul understands the dire state of our devaluing dollar. Unlike other candidates, Ron Paul understands that our government is no longer representative of the people. Ron Paul also has the congressional voting record to change the vast problems with the current state of the US government.

So yes, people should be paying more attention to Ron Paul.

I told him of course. Yes, every American needs to be paying attention to Ron Paul. We are headed straight for the iceberg people!

Here is what I sent in:

Those that fear Ron Paul is too extreme need to realize that we really do have checks and balances in this country. Paul, being a Constitutionalist will see to it that those checks and balances aren't ignored. So, yes he should not only be listened to, but he should also have your vote, even if you deem him extreme. He won't be able to accomplish many of the things he's pushing, but electing him would, at least, put our great country back on the proper track of limited government, low taxes, sound money, and individual liberty.

Trying to re-frame the opinion for those that label him extreme.

Enjoy.

From me:

You had asked if we should pay more attention to Ron Paul. Absolutely! Where has this guy been? I’ve been bombarded with these terrible candidates who do not even remotely represent the views of the Republican party but have been sold to us as our only choices. Instead of wondering what happened to our cause I should have been asking who represents it. Now I know, and I can tell you now there’s a lot more people asking the same question. It seems that we finally have our man and he’s amazingly been able to get some backing without us even knowing he was running. Americans are notorious for not paying attention to their own politics. I think now that we have a reason to do just that we’ll be hearing more and more about this man.

I for one not only will be supporting him … well I can only say that after seeing his banners all over the place and on the freeways this week I’m going to join up with the guys who’ve been putting them up around town. I’ve sat around too long waiting instead of doing something. Instead of blaming you guys for not paying attention to what’s happened to the Republican party I think it’s about darn time the people realized it’s all about us. And I think you guys are showing that to us, and for this I thank you!

:)

YES!

It's a bit of a foregone conclusion to ask an internet audience about Dr. Paul, but YES more people would benefit from exposure to his platform. The "mainstream" Republican platform that has been reported is Bush Redux - more aggressive foreign policy, fewer domestic liberties, more power in government in general and in the executive branch in particular... all in the name of being tough on terrorism. The reported Democratic platform is very similar, with a different motive; "for the common good", as Sen. Clinton puts it. Ron Paul represents the only alternative to this single stance that dominates both parties' coverage. It would be very good for the electoral process to have more than one position represented to the voting public.

It would also be very good for the GOP. Since 2001, the Republican party has alienated an enormous portion of its voter base. Many people who voted for Bush's platform of a "meek foreign policy", limited government and reduced taxes feel disenfranchised, and have left the party - and in some cases, the entire electoral system - behind. Ron Paul is the only candidate with a hope of winning those voters back. For the GOP, Ron Paul is the only hope of surviving an election where more than 70% of the public oppose the policies set forth by this administration and the rest of the candidates.

More widespread exposure to the Ron Paul Constitutionalist platform would benefit both the GOP and the electorate as a whole. For the GOP, he represents the only hope of surviving a 22% approval rating. For the electorate, he represents the only alternative to the big government, aggressive nation-building, rights-revoking platform that seems to dominate both parties.

I like the Tancredo nod. His supporters may take notice. I would say that they are most likely to join Paul out of all of the lower polling candidates. Paul's immigration stance is strong.
