I heard our main primary opponent sent out an e-mail attacking Rand and asking for money. Does anybody have a copy so I can read it?

sure

Dear Friends,

2009 has been an exciting year for Nancy, the girls and me. We’ve been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from across Kentucky for our campaign for U.S. Senate.

Hundreds of you have volunteered your time to help us, and hundreds more have made contributions. We’re very thankful for your assistance.

But today, I need to ask for your support one last time in 2009.

One of our opponents in the Republican primary has raised almost $2 million, the vast majority of which has come from out-of-state supporters of his father, a Texas Congressman. It’s clear from the negative campaign they’re already running that most of those funds will be used to attack me.

Would you please give one last time this year to help us build the resources we need to defend ourselves from the negative attacks and angry rhetoric of our opponents? Whether it’s $5, $50 or $500, whatever you can afford to give today would be helpful to make sure we have the resources to win.

This Thursday, December 31st marks not just the end of 2009 but also the end of the 4th quarter reporting period for our next campaign finance reports to the Federal Election Commission (FEC). We are working very hard to end the year with as large a war chest as possible, so it is important I receive your contribution before Thursday.

We are running a campaign about the future of Kentucky, about fighting for policies in Washington that will stop out-of-control spending, reduce deficits, create jobs and turn our economy around. Only with your help can we raise the resources we will need to get our positive message out to voters.

Please make a year-end contribution by Thursday to help us meet our financial goals for the year.

I am truly grateful for your support. I look forward to seeing you on the campaign trail in 2010.

Sincerely,
Grey Trayson

Hopefully Rand's campaign sends a few of these final pleas for money..

One of our opponents in the Republican primary has raised almost $2 million, the vast majority of which has come from out-of-state supporters of his father, a Texas Congressman.

My funds, meanwhile, have largely come from the help of the DC political machine and $250/plate dinners set up by my good friend, Mitch McConnell.

It’s clear from the negative campaign they’re already running that most of those funds will be used to attack me.

Therefore, I need more funds from the fine folks of Kentucky, so that I can continue to staff ol' Pancakes to film every move of my opponent, and countless others who can create non-issues out of two-year-old social networking web pages of my opponents' staffers. You see, you have to fight fire with fire when you're dealing with such a negative, dirty politician as my opponent.

Would you please give one last time this year to help us build the resources we need to defend ourselves from the negative attacks and angry rhetoric of our opponents?

HELL NO! :D

Grayson is pushing hard for funds as the quarter ends. Wish the Paul campaign would as well.

Ron Paul & Rand Paul need to contact their supporters tomorrow for the mini money bomb.

Ron Paul & Rand Paul need to contact their supporters tomorrow for the mini money bomb.

Paul has already pulled even with Grayson in last month's WHAS11/Survey USA poll, and a Public Policy Polling survey last week had Paul up an unbelievable 19 points. Even the Paul campaign is not endorsing that wide of a lead, but in the battle of perception, it certainly doesn't hurt Paul to be reaffirmed not only as a legitimate candidate, but the possible frontrunner in the race.

He raised more money last quater, and has been up in the two most recent polls, how is he not the frontrunner?

Meanwhile, yet another GOP candidate could be making enough noise to affect the Grayson/Paul contest. Todd County businessman Bill Johnson released the results of an internal poll this monthTthat show Trey Grayson at 29%, Rand Paul at 25%, and Bill Johnson at 14%.

I joined the Grayson web-site a while back to track his activity. I just got the e-mail and had to laugh, but your comments were hilarious.

The sad thing about that internal poll is usually faked results show a candidate leading. Internal polls are well-known for that, McCain just before the 2008 election said his internals had him winning.

If in the fantasyland of Jonhson's internals he's down double-digits to two candidates, imagine how bad it is in reality: 2% (like every independent poll has shown).

According to political strategists in Kentucky the 4th quarter will be of huge importance for this race:

I can see why Grayson is getting nervous.

When will Rand send out an email asking for end of quarter donations?

I'm surprised Bill Johnson didn't go for the jugular in his poll like this:

Meanwhile, yet another GOP candidate could be making enough noise to affect the Grayson/Paul contest. Todd County businessman Bill Johnson released the results of an internal poll this month that show Bill Johnson at 44%, Trey Grayson at 29%, and Rand Paul at 2%.

It's clear Grayson just follows Rand's campaign's lead. Monkey see, monkey do!

Rand only need 5K more to reach Grayson's Q3 mark of 640K. Grayson wants a last push for the quarter.

Grayson wants a last push for the quarter.

He needs a lot more than a push, Grayson is dead in the water. Donating money to him now is pointless, he has done nothing but lose since he entered this race. LOSER!

In past quarters, did Grayson donate money to himself?

No, he took money from the campaign in reimbursements.

Explain this please.

On his FEC report, there are many times his committee writes him a check. He could have spent his own money on something and just wanted it back, or he could be simply funneling money into his own pocket. :)

No, bloggers can't tie that to race anyway, yet!

Not sure, I only saw the third quarter report.

Screw Grayson when US Senators can only affect legislation in their own states then he can complain about out of state money. I am getting tired of neocons and socialist screwing my life up and being elected in states across the map.

Oh yeah and Grayson, you have no friends you slimeball neocon...or whatever you are seeing as you used to be a Democrat when it was convenient.
