Hey, Truckin' Mike....What do you think about using a tarp with Ron Paul Revolution painted on top of it, for all the traffic helicopters to put on the local news?

Good idea? Bad idea? The tarps are less than $200 and could be easily painted by our spirited corps of signmakers....

Yes, however its disappointing, truckers for the most part listen to sean HAnnity, and they are NOT computer savvy.... thus the problem. However, they dont like big government, taxes, etc.. and they have enough "authority" to deal with everyday... they have the "DOT".

I will be posting here for all to see. I will also notify the "contact" person at each of the meet ups along the route. Maybe they will spread the word. Hopefully so.

NOTE: Small Permenant Signs work! Dollar for Dollar, they are the very BEST without a doubt! Just think...They resend the message every time someone sees it. Much better than TV, radio, newspapers or magazines. If we can get the ten signs per supporter ---- people will soon learn of RON PAUL, thus VOTE for Ron Paul. But we must get the signs out ... Spread the word "Hey Dude, Can you Hang Ten?" to all of your meet up groups!!

People on the street still do not know who Ron Paul is!!!

10 Million signs would do it!!! WE MUST DO IT NOW... Only 8-10 weeks of effective repetitive advirtising left.... The signs must go out NOW!

YO - TruckinMike,

Fantastic or should we say Paultastic look and idea. We need to get as many fellow truckers to support RP the same way as possible.

This is especially requested for all those who drive in and through New Hampshire, Iowa, New York, South Carolina and Florida . . . Hells Bells it is important for any truckers who have the nerve to speak out for Ron Paul that drive in or through any STATE!

We are not just on the internet - We are Ron Paul and We are EVERYWHERE! :D

Hey to ALL Meetup groups - time to hit the truckstops and do a little rally supporting for RP-Yes/No ? ;)

Thanks,

BizmanUSA

Captain Parker update please....

Here is the link to the thread: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=20373&page=7

The vet said the bite was much worse than he first thought. He has a large area of decaying flesh. From the lower leg up and into his inner and outer shoulder area. The vet may have to sedate and remove rotting material... but for now Parker is really back to normal. At least while looking at his disposition and overall attitude. My wife took him on her morning walk to the park. And he had a great time. -- he doesn't know his leg is rotting off.

Note: The dead flesh is dead, thus he is not in pain.:D

I guess Indiana just doesn't have what it takes to get it done...Shame Shame Shame:(

Illinois ---- Now its your turn. Show'em who's Boss, by showing ME the SIGNS!

Truckinmike

MY ROUTE for today:
I70west
I57south
I55 south to MO.
then into AR.
then west on I 40
around Little ROck on 440
then south on I30

Note: I hope this little series of posts serves as a source of motivation. To get RP_ elected each and every supporter is going to have to pull their own weight. By posting at least ten signs each... and since MEETup members are HIGHLY motivated, action oriented individuals, how 'bout increasing your sign goal to 100 signs!!! YOU CAN DO IT!

http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1132/1357613106_142df3f50d.jpg

Also, if you don't have cash to send, 10 well -placed signs are worth a good $100 BUCKS towards the campaign in advirtising... So get those signs out!--- And include RP's message in little 2 or 3 word snipits. People need a reason to research, get them interested.

Mystery after mystery, we are all faced with unanswerable riddles, and clueless enigmas seem to leep out from the beyond. Oh what to do... what to do?!?!?!

I'm just outside Whittington, IL

I found TWO perfect 4x8 sign locations.

At exit 83 on I-57

1. on the east side of the freeway, north of the overpass.
there is a small one-sided billboard, just perfect for a 4x8
to be nailed on the back side (north side).

2. on the east side of the freeway, south of the overpass.
There is a large abandoned double sided billboard perfect for multiple 4x8
signs on both the front and the back.

OK...Illinois, now get to it!

Simple, the previous post. They have no more excuses about where to place a few signs!:D ... Lets not mention the ones that I put up... I wouldn't want to shame them or anything:rolleyes:

And

I am now stuck at the Missouri line -- at the weigh station. I had to shut it down for the night. I can only drive 30 minutes after sunset.

Arkansas.... step it up... I haven't seen an RP sign YET!!

However, at mile marker 50, on I55, there are TWO ABANDONED billboards waiting for Multiple 4x8 RON PAUL signs....

NOTE: 1 interstate billboard is worth $500 to $5000 dollars a month in advirtising. How much have you donATED?

Make your donations count, put signs on these billboards, its the campaign contribution that keeps on giving... Month after month after month!!!!!

If I had 4x8 signs with me... I would have done it myself.... NOW you know, Just get it done!!

Keep up the GREAT work here.

I ran an a business for 8 years using only 18x24 coroplast signs. They worked great. I learned that competitors would rip them down, thus I began placing them high. So high, that they would have to get a big ladder to get to them. Its easy to beat lazy people. Just work a little harder.

On a bad note, we are experiencing the same attitude with anti-Ron Paul folks. They would gladly tear a RP sign down, but not if they have to get a ladder. They are Too lazy.:D

we had someone take down signs that were beyond reach. We have a 6.5 ft "sign stapler" gadget that gets signs a decent height up... Not as good as yours, but I thought it was sufficient. Guess someone was really not a fan of RP

I'm always spamming the street light poles, bike racks, random signs, sidewalks and anything else that is legal public property. If people see it when they are walking or biking, you can guarantee that I'm gonna get a sticker there. Its kind of subtle because some of the stickers are small, but I think it is going to have an effect on some people. People stick all kinds of other stickers in those places anyway.

Don't take us foot soldiers for granted. The Ron Paul internet army is everywhere: on the ground, on the sea, in the air, on the streets, on the web, and even inside the GOP. We are taking over this country.

Hey Truckin' Mike,
Ever think of leaving a bunch of "Free" Ron Paul CDs at truck stops for fellow truckers to listen to on their long drives? (Sorry for the ignorance....do most of you listen to CDs by the way?)

Creating the CDs is easy. Just download some of the MP3's from ronpaulaudio.com and burn them. I use the Cafferty commentary as Track 1 and the Laura Knoy Interview or Google Interview or Taft speech as Track 2.

Just an idea. You seem to be a busy guy though.

Signs get taken down real quick here in St. Louis. Hope you spot some on 55 or 44!

unklejman...Send me a pic and I'll honor y'all with the Coveted Truckinmike Sign Sighting Award.:D

And

shadowhooch... i prefer to hand them out individually. However, in the last truck stop, I left a small stack... along with some slim jims. It was an exceptionally good spot. Usually this is not the case. I only left them because it was so visible, normally I would not do that.

Most "drivers", regard themselves as patriotic, constitution minded folks. But the hurdle comes in where Hannity leaves off. If you know what i mean. So I've been gently exposing them to Ron PAul.

And SIGNS.... PUT them real HIGH! 12 feet or greater. And remain vigilant, don't let the nay sayers get you down.

If you can find a sign that carries a message with it, its much better than the "Hope for America" -- the non-informative approach.

If I had the time I would print these:

This seems like a good place to make note of this...

We traveled across eastern Texas and western Louisiana down the backroads. Not a single RP sign anywhere.

We traveled across eastern Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama via Interstate. Not a single RP sign anywhere.

We traveled all over NW Georgia, mostly backroads, and one stretch on I-75 Southbound towards Atlanta. Saw ONE Ron Paul overpass banner between Hwy 92 and Wade Green.

Many thanks to whoever got that one up. :)

I saw a single Fred Thompson bumper sticker, made sure to get in front of him so he could see my Ron Paul bumper sticker.

I know the pain and frustration first hand. GOVERNMENT involvement and regulation($$$) KILLS small business motivation. THus the big GUYS remain. They can afford the lawyers and fees etc where a lot of folks couldn't. Thus squelching competition.

TruckinMike
10-18-2007, 08:57 PM
I'm not getting near the response I had hoped for. I believe that I need to change my signs. The "Hope for America" signs do not relay a message. I've been asked if Ron Paul is a Bible character, running for mayer, and who is Ron PAul? When i get a chance I'm going to cover over everything beneath "Ron Paul" and put some of his platform positions -- NO Income tax, Restore the 2nd Am., Follow the Constitution, return to a gold standard, etc... I haven't yet decided what... I may just put "champion of the Constitution" and President '08 -- that in itself may illicit questions. Right now, Ron Paul could be running for the dog catcher position for all the fellow travelers know.

However, this morning two fork lift operators actually asked me about the signs and what his positions were... I gave them slim jims and answered the best I could ... and left with my best response... research him, google, and check out youtube videos.

BTW -- Hwy 231 and hwy 431 in Alabama have now been OFFICIALLY SHAMED!!! Not One sign!

And I'll give Columbus Georgia a break, it was dark when I went through.

Sorry Atlanta, But YOu have NOW made TruckinMikes Wall O' Shame! In fact the entire I-85 corridor through Georgia and South Carolina have made the wall.

I have NOT seen one RP SIGN since I drove through Seguin, Tx on Hwy 46 on my way to Florida!

Tomorrow I'll be going through Charlotte, NC and then up I-77.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But Boy did the BIG sign make a difference. People talk when you shove the sign in their faces!!! EVERYBODY---- Get great BIG signs and mount them on the roof of your cars!!! IT works... The little signs did not seem to garner any interest... I almost got into a fight with an entire truck stop in South Carolina!!!! They were hannity trained. bush bots. --- But on the good side I gave a RP sign to another Brother Trucker, and met a LIBERAL democrat--- big union guy--- turned Ron Paul Supporter!! I haven't had this much fun in a while!!! I need more signs, flags etc... I may just make a difference.

Note: I not kidding... if you do not have a ridiculously large sign on your car ...get ONE! It works!!!!

And, where do you get those ridiculously large signs?

Post signs where its a real pain in the rear to remove... That means get a ladder. Also place signs on abandoned signs and billboards like i did for the folks in Panama City, Florida --- on one of my shaming missions!
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2154/1603934985_04b494f6c1_b.jpg

And like I said on another post --- thats been begging for money$$$...
Post some signs along major interstates!!!!!

On my quest of over 13,000 miles to spot RP signs, I've encountered only 6 signs outside the state of Texas! THIS is ridiculous!!! I spotted six alone in San antonio. Meetup sign parties are great! So why not actually post the signs that you've mADE! We need permenent signs posted on telephone poles, abandoned/unused billboards, trees along the highway(hang them with rope, no nails), farmers barns, on junk cars, tied to barbed wire fences, anywhere and everywhere.

NOTE: even small 18x24 signs work when placed close to the road--- like hanging from a tree. Especially if you put two or three in a row. They do not have to be in the city!!! In fact don'tput them in the city----Thousands upon thousands of bored drivers are just looking for something to read along the UN-Cluttered expanses of our major interstates--- outside of town.. There is NO sign competition there... They will READ the sign!!!!!! SO Please, buy/make at least TEN coroplast signs and post them up!!!!! that'll give Ron Paul $1000 dollars worth of advertising for only $20!!! Use your heads people!

Seriously, any suggestions where we can put them that 1) you will see them and 2) won't get removed by the local busybodies?
That is easy! Hang them from TREES! let the sign blow in the wind underneath a horizontal branch thats 10+ above the ground. -- the detractors can't reach them without getting a ladder and like I said in the above quote... put them just outside of town or in an area less cluttered... but even if they do take them down... they are cheap... so be vigilant and put them back up!!!

Note: If you look, you will be shocked at how many unused billboards and signs there are. In fact... this is the best place for 4x8's in the city... I guarantee that you will find more than enough if you look.

PLEASE get them UP!!

TruckinMike

Where to buy signs??? contact Don or Pam with the Austin Meetup group, thats where I bought these. OR Design your own and get them printed in volume. Really a sign would be better if it had a message on it like "Champion of the Constituion" along with President '08.. my 2 cents

You can't give up man, you're like a god damn super hero! I put up three signs last week on overpasses in Northern Maryland, a week later only one of them is still up. There are just a ton of haters out there that tear these signs down as soon as they lay their eyes on one.

We need you to keep spreading the word, don't give up. Keep fighting the good fight!

are you in any of the nepa meetups? Hazleton/schuylkill/luzerne will be having another sign making party in the next week and doing a huge banner blitz. And the stroudsburg group just did one and has another planned.

If took us Friday, Saturday and Sunday to get the banners up. Jacksonville is a huge city, I think we had 7 cars out for the first two nights and 5 on Sunday. I could have sworn that we were being followed.

We put up so MANY banners though that I think that the last one came down after about 10 days.

So I thought to myself... frozen bloodied feet?? Hhmm? Not yet. Its not even cold outside. the least that I could do was hang more signs... yes hang signs from TREES out in the middle of nowhere... with no other sign in sight... and what do you get... A message relayed! ---- "Ron Paul is running for President '08".... everyone that comes around that corner will read that sign!!!! Yahoo... thats the spirit... And thats how you do it!

Now get'em up there!

I'm jealous of WV's trees! Our foliage is disappointing this year. Mostly dull green and brown. Some red here and there, and a bit of yellow mixed with brown. But very dull in comparison to other years.

Parker sure looks like he was having a good time. :D

I haven't been able to get out to check on our signs, but we should still have a bunch up on 80.. probably more on 80W than 80E. We covered the area between White Haven (near Hazleton) and Bloomsburg last week. I hope you see a bunch!

TruckinMike
10-24-2007, 07:27 PM
That was some serious EYE CANDY!!! I've been in need of a fix for a while... Thanks guys!! I'm hoping to see them all!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Todays report: No signs. I made my way down 78 in New jersey, south on 287, onto statten island on 440 (BTW there are some great trees in need of RP signs), 278 across the verrazano, made Brooklyn delivery at 83 st.... btw nobody told me that I can't take a 72 foot long truck down streets with 33' maximum length signs posted everywhere!! I hope I didn't lose to many potential brooklyn RP voters by blocking traffic while attempting to back down a one way street!!! With full-blown Ron Paul regalia glaring at them!:D

next, I got lost in new jersey. In Hackensack, saddlebrook, clifton, Patterson,etc... I stumbled around from street to street finally making it to my 2nd stop in wyckoff.

And from there i made it to 287N, 87S, and 95 north to East Haven, CT for my final.

Need less to say... All of the New York metro areas have made it to the WALL O' SHAME!!!! ... I know we can do better than that!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm outside Hartford,CT tonight. I'm headed up I84 then I90 to Hudson, Mass and then back down all the way down I95 to Ardmore,PA...Via Philadelphia.

So I95/New Jersey TurnPike... get ready here I come!! And Philadelphia... Here I COME!!!

New Jersey, you are getting a second chance.. and you to New York.. Show me the SIGNS!!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Capt. PArker is healing right up. Although, the skin seems to be tightening up causing a restriction in movement of his leg. I'm thinking scar tissue... I compared legs, and the skin on the front of his right leg is much thinner than his healing left leg. its as if the skin is pulling his leg up and forward like a tendon. But i think he will be OK.

His natural standing position is with his left leg held up a bit. Not because its sore, but because of the skin/scar tension.

Thats all for now...

Now get out and show me some signs!

Truckinmike

PS- if you have not permanently posted at least ten signs in high traffic areas, you are not pulling your own weight in the campaign for Paul! So get up and out and post'em!:D

PSS- I ran out of 4x8 and 2x4 signs..does anybody have any on/near my route?

Well I made it up to Boston... not one sign all the way from Philadelphia up 476 and east on 84, and the east on 90... NOT one!

So who's to blame? Me? Should I be responsible for those areas? And my area at home to? Ok.. I'll try, I've been trying, but I need some help!

Note about Florida, It seems that RP is pretty popular here. I've been getting an unusual high number of "thumbs up" and HONKS here!!!

And Things are changing all across the country... my honk rate has had a noticeable increase since 11/5, and as you can see, I've been awarding instead of SHAMING. I honestly don't think you will be disappointed around Austin!

You may even run into Michael riding his bike, but he may be a bit further south as quick as you get across the nation!

Will you be heading through Mobile?

No, I'm way north of Mobile. I'm headed west on I-20. in fact I'm in Pearl Mississippi right now. I just fueled up.

The bad news is I did not see any signs in Alabama. However, There is a perfect un-used billboard just west of the Mississippi/Alabama border... maybe a mile west. On the north side of the highway, just west of the west bound scale house. The billboard even has a built in set of stairs. PLEASE inform someone from that area of its existence. It would be great for a 4x8 and Revolution Banner.

Its FREE for the taking. Worth at least $500 per month to the campaign.

Hey TruckinMike –

Will you be driving down through Georgia via I-95 into Jacksonville any time in the near future?

Our Jacksonville, FL Meetup group has this planed for 12/12/2007.

We have approximately 2 miles of combined interstate frontage Northbound and Southbound I-95. We will be hanging signs and banners on trees, posts and including three billboards, building frames for the 4 X 8 signs also. We will be using rope, nails, screws and any other means necessary to be sure these banners and signs do not come down. The property is secured with locked gates and the Sheriff's department watches the property for us

This is privately owned property by close personal friends and business associates and we have the permission to hang the banners and signs there.

Give a big hug to Captain Parker for us.

Ok folks -- I've been travelin' incognito for a while now. I wanted to see how well y'all could get along without me. And to my surprise and detriment to my ego --- You've been doing great!

So whats new? Well, Alabama stirred the soul and spawned some new life into me today! Thats right! Alabama has a sign guy that has put large yard signs along I-10 clear into Mississippi. Yes these simple and inexpensive little signs that I saw have been the talk of I-10, I gaurantee it! Who needs billboards when you have industrious folks like that on your side? There is NO NEED to spend money on large billboards! If just ONE of every 100 Ron Paul supporters posted signs along the interstates like this guy ---- Ron Paul's name would be a household word --- End of Story!

There is a lesson here -- getting out from behind the computer can do wonders for the campaign. Here is the trick:

1. Go outside the city limits --
2. In the boonies
3. With no homes or businesses in sight
4. place yard signs in trees, grass, or a fences along side the road.

being that the signs are not near a population center, but on well traveled roads --- they will expose Ron Paul to many folks without the hassles of city inspectors or Ron Paul bashers. Simple but effective.

These Alabama signs have exposed Ron Paul's name to over 250,000 people traveling over the Christmas holidays and all for the pittance sum of around $40 in signs!

As I stated earlier, These signs stirred the soul --- as a result of my new found motivation I was compelled to do something productive -- so I posted this home made "Ron Paul Revolution" banner along side I-10 in Mississippi for an added bonus!

The banner is a 3x9. The picture does not do it justice. The banner location is perfect. In fact the signs that I was referring to are less than half that size and they were easily legible at highway speeds.

In the past I have even seen very small 12x12 signs nailed to sign posts that were legible at highway speeds. -- If they are close to the road.

So get those signs up --- BIG or small, you can read them all!!

I never know where I'll be going, but I do seem to make it through NC quite often. 1-3 times a month +/-

is a chipin very complicated? it would be really good to have 100 more 4x8 signs put up.

the way i see it, each 4x8 that i have put up is worth around $500 a month in free advertising. 100 more signs would be worth a lot in advertising to the campaign.

100 x $500 = $50,000 per month in free advertising!!! (actual cost 100 x $20 = $2000) --- $2000 invested returns $50,000 a month -- that isn't half bad!:D

this is one reason I've been heavily promoting putting up signs. When you do it yourself you are getting so much more for your advertising dollar.

Maybe you should continue your campaign in a new thread which details the mission from the get-go.

In your signature you can have donation instructions. We probably have 10-20 people ready to donate right now, and this board is only going to get more popular.

This is a supreme idea. You'd be able to travel with a full range of signs, and donors would be getting the best value for their money possible.

This thread is as good as it gets on this board. There has to be something we can do for trucker mike. Someone suggested an rp tarp. That was a great idea. Trucker Mike said he could use some signs. Where can we get them to you Mike? I was out doing a sign wave a week ago and two big trucks rolled through with their air horns. A honk is great but when the big trucks roll through and blast you its downright awesome.

Yes! where's the chip-in my good man?

I didn't want to start something until I knew the game plan - after New Hampshire.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As for today ... I'm headed for Virginia. I'll be lookin' for signs.

And Here is my report of Ron Paul's sign status as of Today.

1. I know you think that there are signs everywhere --- but they are NOT everywhere, in fact, they are hardly anywhere! I often drive a full day without seeing just one sign. And I mean any sign, big, small, homemade, or professional.

2. Step back and look more objectively - Do you see signs on every major street corner in your town? NO. Do you see signs every 5-10 miles on your local interstate? NO. Are there signs posted on the backs of every billboard you see? NO. Are there signs posted on every abandoned billboard in your area? NO

So the question is --- Why not?

Sorry for the dismal report, but folks, there are people that I run into everyday have never even heard the name RON PAUL! And the ones that have , have a distorted impression of him -- the media and GOP have been distorting his views very successfully. That has to change. How? Post signs with meaning as well.

"Champion of the Constitution" -- "defender of the Second Am."--- No IRS --- NO BATF --- etc...

So please, get out in the world and cover your local area with PERMANENT coroplast/plastic/vinyl/banners etc. We still need name recognition and we must counter the MSM with the TRUE message.

PS- post signs with a ladder, keep them out of the enemies reach!

Truckin Mike,

I am relatively new to this forum and just saw this thread today. I am tremendously impressed. We are doing our part down here in Georgia. Some friends of mine got a big banner up on I-75 going North through Forsyth, Georgia!

My friend and I sign bombed for the first time this week, and are planning on doing it many more times before the Georgia primary. Right now we are just waiting on supplies. If I can figure out how to post pictures on this thing (no, all RP'ers are not computer geeks), I'll do it.

Keep up the good work. Happy Truckin'!

I also noted 4 cars with RP bumperstickers (with no other candidates signs anywhere!)

Thats great!! I haven't been to the west coast in a while... I need to take a visit out there and check out all the signs! AND MORE GOOD NEWS !!! I found a nice little treat. This pic is in Wytheville, Va. On the overpass. There is one on both ends of the bridge on sign posts. These signs have been there for months--- and THOUSANDS upon thousands of travelers have seen them.

Total cost: probably not more than $4. You can tell that the grass roots really knows how to spend its money:D. I wish more folks realized that this type of advertising really does WORK!

-- Its a bad pic, but it'll do. the Wind was really blowing hard. Tomorrow I'm going back to nail the sign down better.
