Hope this link works, as I rarely post things like this.

Just a quick scan of the story, and it seems that in response to the failed terrorist plot, now passengers will not be allowed out of their seats an hour before landing, and will not be permitted to have anything in their laps? WTF?!?!?!?

How that improves security, I have no idea.

Straight jackets, blindfolds and helmets for every passenger. Only then will we ensure that every one is safe and secure.

Keep a log on this. What I have found always of utmost interest is that whenever the Congress passes an unfavorable bill; there is soon thereafter a terrorist act taking place which moves the news media in a new direction.

Bush/Cheney were the best at that, but looks like Obama robbing their play book, lol.

Just another reason not to ride on the airlines. The airlines haven't protested one bit since '01 about the rape of their customers by the TSA. Evidently, their cooperation has been purchased by the feds.

what happens if your flight is only one hour long?

what happens if you really have to go to the bathroom??

You get up and use the restroom. Plane diverts (possibility followed by Air Defense fighters) and you get arrested and a lengthy interrogation.

Then you go home on the next available flight and they lose your luggage.

Over the past few years, this is like a Benny Hill movie. Congress passes something to kick your ass on Friday or Saturday night.... then... OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG someone, somewhere tries to take down an airliner... lololol..

You guys get my drift... the peeps in Congress are absolute clowns. They are hystericallly inadequate and unqualified. It's like watching the movie "Airplane". I mean if you look at Chris Dodd for exampe... the dude is laughable. You can't tell me a state is so damn stupid they keep electing a hair sprayed televangelist looking dude that will rape you while you're sleeping? Speaking of which he and Teddy did just the thing on one woman... OMG.... Connecticut, what the hell is wrong with you... Three minutes of watching a Chris Dodd film should be enough to tell you the man is nothing but an outright flimflam man... a crook.... a maggot... the one you would never want to spend more than five minutes with.

Wait a minute... I just had a thought. I think Chris Dodd tried to sell my mother a vacumn cleaner about 15 years ago. That is why he looks familiar. He came to our house and threw crap on the floor, and showed her how spending 1,500. would really save our lives.

Yep.... that is Chris... a vacumn cleaner salesman. So glad to see he has been promoted to a liar in Congress.

On a serious note, if everytime some wacko wants to off himself and company in an enclosed space we lose a measure of liberty, then it won't be that long before the feds run out of liberties to take away.

The very same liberties they relieve us off to cover up the inescapable fact (to saner minds at least) that wackos by their very definition will do wacky acts running counter to the herd-accepted (ie. enforced through violence) behavioural norms.

In other words, it doesn't matter what's done, because someone who wants to kill, will find ways to kill.

On a more creative writing note:

Liberty is that married woman, who is continually on the receiving side of domestic violence incidents with her brutal husband Feddy, because from time to time her kids misbehave.

Eventually Feddy will kill Liberty and then there will be no one between Feddy and the kids, and the noose of Discipline (which to a point was deemed necessary in general opinion of the family)
will tighten beyond those limits envisaged even in the worst nightmares and will then scarcely be distinguisable from outright wanton abuse of a known domestic violence initiator.

After watching eleven days of the voting of the Senate Health care bill on cspan, my impression of the whole process was like watching "Weekend at Bernies" and the "Howdy Doody Show". Pushing around that 92 year old senator in a wheel chair, making sure the ventriloquist behind him makes the right vote was comical, but very sad for the country.
