Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Tuesday the Senate needs to have a "Rodney King" moment in its healthcare debate. During a speech on the Senate floor this morning, Reid channeled King, the victim of a 1991 police brutality incident, who made his famous plea for unity after courts acquitted police officers in his beating, sparking the 1992 Los Angeles Riots.http://libertypulse.com//article/3170

Reminds me of Lord of the Rings. Saruman said, "Can't we all just get along?" after he had pillaged and burned and killed everything in his path. The answer from the king was:

"When you hang from a gibbit for the sport of your own crows...! We shall have peace. "

I would say the same thing to Reid AND Rondey King Supporters.

The are having a 'Rodney King moment' : Kicking the s%it out of the American tax slaves and the Constitution. The unity moment they seek will come a bit later and not in the way they would wish.

Bizarre (but not entirely surprising) that a Rodney King association comes to Reid's mind after the health care disaster.

But for the comparison to hold, I guess the Republicans would necessarily have to be the ones to offer a "let's all get along" moment...since Democrats hold the position of power and just bashed open the collective head of the American people. Here it seems it is not enough for Reid to successfully grab power; we must ask to get along on his terms.

Truly a dictator's mindset.
