McConnell Folds On Health Care

After promising just yesterday to stay and fight to the end against health care. McConnell has announced that the GOP will not use the tactics that would have pushed the vote back to 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve and will allow the vote to happen at 8:00 a.m.

Apparently there's an ice storm headed to DC and he wants to get home before it hits, and he wants to make sure they have time to vote to raise the debt ceiling.

And this is the guy who is raising money for Trey Grayson? Dear God, please let Rand Paul win.

There are a lot of conservatives upset with the way McConnell has handled the health care legislation recently. Even Rush Limbaugh has been ragging on him a lot.

McConnell is not very conservative when it comes to economics or the free-market in general.

Oh, come on. Let's be realistic.

This thing is going to pass. There is no reason that Republicans should try to delay it a total of 11 hours at the risk of Congressmen/women missing Christmas with their families.

Sure, I'm not at all happy with Congress. But I think each and every one of them deserves to spend quality time with their families over the holidays, regardless of how much money of mine they're wasting. And who knows, maybe a few will learn that giving comes from the charity of others and not the force of government.
