View Full Version : It is Apparent to Me - Peter Can Win
At some time today while I was making phone calls for Peter it became apparent to me that he can win.
Now I am on the phone a lot throughout the week for my job, so I'm sure at some point I have gathered some decent phone skills. But when I was talking to people today they really seemed ticked off and Peter's message seemed to resonate with them. I did not have one person hang up on me, all were courteous, and some of them listened and had discourse for up to five minutes.
Now ony one person i spoke with had even heard of Peter, but even she didn't know anything about him. This phone bank idea is a phenominal way to spoon feed Peter's name to them and just a little bit of info about him and what he stands for. I didn't want to push it too far, so at the end I just asked that they learn a little bit about about him and to keep an open mind. All agreed and then i wished them a Merry Christmas.
I thought this whole thing (phone bank) was not going to work, but if we can make a couple hundred thousand phone calls we can really help Peter get some good name recognition. That's where it starts.
If you haven't tried it, just make a couple of calls. Half of the people either had the wrong number or it went to voicemail, so I left a message. So you only wind up talking to less than half of the numbers you dial. If you have ever made cold calls it is a ton easier than that. Even if you don't spend much time on the phone it's pretty easy.
I'm still going to do 10 a day as long as I can.

Thanks for making those calls, I know if we put some effort into it the grassroots can make a huge difference for him!!

I recommend you get a magic Jack or something, its cheap and its unlimited. Or get the skype plans, and you can do it on your computer.
Good luck everyone... is there a way of knowing how many calls were made in total- a running total of calls would be very encouraging I think, and it would show us progress.
Peace

Koz, are you able to record your phone calls so that others can learn and also be encouraged by your experience? If you're using Skype, you can download PrettyMay from download.com for this purpose.

I've been slacking in not phone banking but I think the best approach is to get their email address and send them one or both of these videos. It will be an instant convert and grassroots supporter in my opinion so really try to get these to them.

Those are among the best highlight reels for Peter, I think. Nice choices. :)

Nice idea, but not going to happen. We need to just make the calls and start with name recognition. Few will give us thier email addresses.

No, I have no clue how to record my calls. I use my cell phone and I'm not that technologically savvy.
Anyone who is interested PM me your phone number and I will call you. I coach people at work on making phone calls, so I suspect I can do that for Peter as well.
Sorry, but that's the best I can do.

nice work!
I will be joining you.....a bit of advice...
I had three different people I know who live in CT watch the YouTube clip..."Peter Schiff was Right"
It's a collection of clips from 2005 - 07 in which a bunch of "experts" laugh at Schiff's warnings about the approaching meltdown.
Let me tell ya...It blew them away!!!!
I think it would be a good idea for you to close your calls with "Please have a look at a popular YouTuve video entitled "Peter Schiff was Right"
...Be bold..ask for their e-mail...If they say no (few will) then ask then politely ask them to google/youtube the videos....I'm tellin ya...people are pissed off and they want alternatives.
....dont oversell...but definitely show them the way to taking the next educational step if they choose...
anyone who wathces those schidd vids is gonna belong to us in 4 out of 5 cases I'm sure.

Are all of these calls focused on CT-residents/voters?

Yes. Everyone one of the calls made is into a Connecticut household.

It will be easier to know once his Foreign Policy views are made public.

Or maybe just tell them to google "Peter Schiff was Right" (works without quotes). For me the first thing that comes up is the video.
And googling "Schiff vs Dodd" gets the video as the top result (also works without quotes) "Google Schiff vs Dodd and click on the youtube video when you have some free time" might be a worthwhile approach as a concluding statement or when they refuse to give their email.
This approach is more private and less "pushy". But emails are pretty important if you can get them and it will be easier for them to forward the email (if Schiff if asked in the email to do so.. they probably will). The "Peter Schiff was Right" video didn't get 1.6 million views because it wasn't interesting.

Awesome!!
Schiff has an amazing phone banking system that he's invested in, and we really need to utilize it.
The system has a script to read and you can input answers to the questions. The system also tracks each person who is called and keeps a database of information in order to prioritize the calls and ensure that people aren't getting called too often, or never.. That means if we really want to use the full extent of what Peter has invested in, we need to keep up our end to make sure we have enough people calling so that everybody gets called and the people who are interested are contacted again.

I guess he can really win. It depends if the Ron Paul movement unites behind him right now when he is really starting to get his campaign going.

Yeah I'm going to start doing it soon. Interesting how Peter Schiff on Youtube said only a 100,000 or so Republicans actually vote in the primary. :)

Anyone know when we can expect another poll? I'm curious to see if Schiff is polling better now that he's started to campaign.
