Witnesses, first speaking to The New York Post, said the EMTs told employees at the eatery in downtown Brooklyn to call 911 and then left when they were asked to help Eutisha Revee Rennix, an employee who had collapsed.

An ambulance was called, and Rennix, 25, was taken to Long Island College Hospital, where she died a short time later. Her baby girl was too premature to survive. A message left for Rennix's mother Monday wasn't immediately returned.

Next time, I guess go on break at home ... and hope neither one chokes :D

I am pretty sure that if the lady was someone they knew, they would have helped her. Sad stuff.

I agree with the comments - if the EMT's were white, we would have Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson weighing in that a black woman was treated as a non-priority.

Someone tell me again how we simply could not survive w/o a taxpayer funded police/fire/emergency medical department?

Republican Representative "Zigzag" Zach Wamp from Chattanooga, TN has cosponsored HR 413 which seeks to unionize all first responders throughout the country:

What kind of heartless, stupid, self absorbed animals are these people? I hope they enjoyed that coffee and donut while they relaxed and watched the spectre of death descend before their glazed, empty eyes. These stinking examples of human garbage will be paying for this pleasant little break for a long time and much more than they realize when the City of New York and legal system come down on their moronic, subhuman skulls. They should be punished to the full extent of every law and forced to do community service in the county morgue until they become residents themselves. There is no punishment possible that will satisfy the family of the victims in these needless deaths.
