ACTION ITEMS: Can you help with any of the following:
1. Obtaining a list of Wyoming Facebook RP supporters? (Datamining?)
2. Obtaining a list of Wyoming MySpace RP supporters? (Datamining?)
3. Personal knowledge of any Wyoming RP supporters that you can provide contact info for? Family members, friends, etc.
4. Contacting meetup groups asking if any of them have friends/family in Wyoming as supporters
5. Any other ideas on how to find every RP supporter in Wyoming.

If yes, please respond here or PM me and I'll get back with you.

BACKGROUND:
Ok, I have been worried about Wyoming for a while because it is currently the very first Primary in the nation (on Jan. 5th). NH and Iowa may move theirs up before that, but nothing has been announced yet. Whether 1st or 3rd, Wyoming is VERY important - because those first states are SO important in building momentum (and proves to undecided voters that he CAN win).

BUT, Wyoming is also a big challenge because it's system is VERY different. On Jan. 5th, 12 of their 28 delegates are chosen in County Conventions, and this is the kicker, ONLY the 980 Precinct Committeemen and Committeewomen can vote. Yes, only 980 people in the entire state vote. 3 other delegates are automatically given to Party leaders, and the rest of the delegates aren't chosen until May 30th at a State Convention.

I have contacted the Official Campaign about how we can help and they mentioned that they are actively working on contact programs for those folks, BUT that there is still time for our RP supporters to actually become Committeemen and Committeewomem (that CAN vote).

What they need ASAP is contact information on every Wyoming RP supporter, so that they can be trained and attempt to become appointed in their precincts. This is something that needs to get done very quickly.

PLEASE help in any way you can. Time is critical!

Wyoming also has a free state project so maybe we should contact some of their members and see if they have anything going on.

How about doing a radio ad? I found their largest AM talk radio stations website (KGAB (http://www.kgab.com/main.html)), but I can't seem to locate their phone number so that I can call and find out the rates.

If we can get good rates, we can use the radio spots at United For Liberty (http://www.unitedforliberty.com/index-4.html).

What do you think?

I'm planning on getting a collection together to run some of these same ads on Salt Lake City's biggest talk radio station.

Definite Bump Here... As I have said in the past it is my feeling that Nevada and Wyoming could be just as important as Iowa and New Hampshire to our campaign. If there is anyway I can help just let me know!

Yes, only 980 people in the entire state vote.

Isn't that the population of Wyoming?

Haha, just kidding!

How about setting up a Wyoming for Ron Paul website where we could keep people informed on what's going on out there, lay down the rules of the caucus so that people understand what they have to do, maybe do some fund raising stuff so we could advertise out there? What do ya think?

I like it. Hopefully the rates aren't too bad. Radio ads are VERY effective, in my opinion, on AM stations. KGAB has a locally produced conservative talk show ("The Morning Zone") that might be excellent to target. They are owned by Clear Channel - so contact them to find out the details. I'll help promote fundraising and donate what I can to that effort.

Great idea. Do you have the web skills to do this? If not, I'm sure there are many on this site that could help. Please help co-ordinate that and I'll help out in any way I can.

so people don't actually get to vote in primaries.. then whats the point of contacting wyomingans? To get the to persuade the councilmen and women?

Not on Jan. 5th. The primary point in contacting them is to get them in the National Campaign database so that they can be trained to become Committeemen and Committeewomen. Since Wyoming is not a winner-take-all state, the number of delegates we get will be proportional to our efforts.

How can I help?

Until we get programmers to script datamining for MySpace/Facebook, we can manually try to find all Wyoming Friends of Ron Paul on those sites. Please contact them and ask them to do two things:

1. Register at https://www.ronpaul2008.com/join/ or email me at rpwy@x2it.com
2. Contact friends/family/acquaintances, ANYONE they know in Wyoming that supports Ron Paul and ask them sign up

This sucks because name recognition is the key. And trying to promote ANYTHING in December really blows because a lot of marketing dollars are spent on Christmas ads in that month and it's tough to compete.

Jeff Greenspan, regional coordinator for the campaign over Wyoming, said that they have the list and have materials being sent right now as part of an ongoing contact program. But he said there was still time to apply for become one of those 980 people. They just need to be sure that they register on the rp2008.com site so HQ can contact and train them.

I'll add more information as I have it.

I spoke to the Wy Republican Office this morning. Committee people are elected, with the next election occurring in 2008 -- HOWEVER, if there is a vacant spot in your precinct, you can go to the county chair of your precinct and request to be appointed. I have maps and vacancies for some counties, but not all yet - still working on that.

There are only 23 counties, but it's time-consuming to look up all the information, so if any other Wyomingites (or anyone else either) would like to help that'd be great. It'd be awesome if we could get a list of vacant precincts, a precinct map and contact information for each county chair together, preferably before Oct. 28 - as I'd like to print out the information and hand it out down in Cheyenne then.

A pretty good starting point is with the county clerk of each county. List is here: http://soswy.state.wy.us/election/clerks.htm

Bump. Hey folks, Cheyenne is next weekend and there's still a lot of county info to look up. Can anyone help out here? The only Wyomingites that can vote on January 5th (Just 77 days away!!) are precinct committee folks. There are plenty of vacancies that can be filled by Ron Paul supporters, but they need the info. on how to get appointed!

@Matt Collins: while your thread was informative, we need a differerent tactic here because we are NOT mass marketing - it won't do any good at this point in time. What we need is real information given out to Ron Paul supporters so that those who are able to can become PC members and vote. I'm a supporter, but I cannot vote on the 5th - there's no way - because there are no vacancies in my precinct. Some people have vacancies and can be appointed but they have been given no information on how to do that.

Any help? Please? Wyoming does exist. I know we're small, but we're one of the first places that'll vote. January 5th is coming up fast. And the Oct 28th Ron Paul fundraiser here is only next week!
