If it came down to it and Ron Paul didn't get the nod from the Republican Party, would he consider the Unity 08 ticket with Dennis Kucinich? We as a group could get him the nomination and I really do think that he could win a 3 way race between himself, Clinton and Guilliani. Hopefully, this could really happen if we can't break through the stronghold of the neocons.

I'd bet the house that he won't run with Kucinich.

I bet $1M that I don't have that a unity ticket will never take place in '08.

Yeah I don't think so either, ctb619. They have rules though that both the Vice President nominee and the Presidential nominee must come from different parties. Maybe we could get him to run with Badnarik.

Unity08 isn't a bad backup plan. They don't say how many people they have signed up, but I bet it's less than the Ron Paul Meetups do, and a lot of them already like Ron Paul.

But let's win the Republican nomination -- Ron Paul's odds are better than ever, and moving up every day.

Unity08 is going nowhere, IMO.

I agree Paul4Prez!! Today's announcement about the 3rd Quarter fundraising was the best news that I have heard in months. We should all feel very happy tonight.

Unity ticket is such a bad idea. Democrats want to control your money and the Republicans want to control your mind. Do you really want them united in doing both.

He is a SOCIALIST! Big government, nanny state... DIRECTLY opposite of Ron Paul... this would never work....

Gee, I thought that's what they were doing already.

Does this mean someone wants to marginalize the third parties? :) :D

Badnarik is a bad choice. His prior record could come back to haunt not only him, but Paul. If you think Paul's considered extreme by many regular voters, Badnarik is off the charts near Neptune.

Advisor? Sure. VP? No way in hell.

What is Badnarik's past like?

The democratic nomination is already locked. it would be a bad idea even if it was possible.

We have a open field!! And were at that half way mark i would say top tier even, if anyone should be reaching over party lines it should be Dennis Kucinich.

I know he is not perfect, but he shares RP stance on some spending issues and is the only Democrat that wants to leave Iraq immediatly.....
How about

Paul and Richardson

Both raised over $5 million and have a following that could build some momentum. Plus, he will bring in the Hispanic vote.

My thoughts exactly!

If RP does not get the nomination, I believe that we could get him on both the Libertarian and Constitution party tickets. Both of those parties presidential candidates have already endorsed Ron Paul. Wonder how many votes that would pick up for us?

Quere? -- Can one person be nominated by two parties simultaneously, thus being on the ballot as a Libertarian in one state and as a Constitution Party candidate in another? My guess is yes, but I don't know.

Paul said he would return to congress if he doesn't get the republican nomination, and he is simulataneously planning a congressoinal campaign. I think he can win the nomination with the massive support of the people. However, if he loses slightly and there's no revolution, I bet we can talk him into running as an independnt Perot style or maybe the Libertarian party would cede him the ticket

He said if supporters stood in the rain for him he might but he is not seeking a third party run. Does not mean the third party will not seek him. He will be the nominee of both the Lib and Constitution party and then its up to him. He said he is 99.9% sure he will not because of all the army of lawyers needed to get on the ballots but a dual party listing could get him on the ballots everywhere. If he gets 12 million this quarter and the Repubs simply nominate a Neocon, I suggest he wil be drafted into the other parties. Then its decision time.
