Over Obama.

Perhaps the greatest measure of Obama's declining support is that just 50% of voters now say they prefer having him as President to George W. Bush, with 44% saying they'd rather have his predecessor. Given the horrendous approval ratings Bush showed during his final term that's somewhat of a surprise and an indication that voters are increasingly placing the blame on Obama for the country's difficulties instead of giving him space because of the tough situation he inherited. The closeness in the Obama/Bush numbers also has implications for the 2010 elections. Using the Bush card may not be particularly effective for Democrats anymore, which is good news generally for Republicans and especially ones like Rob Portman who are running for office and have close ties to the former President.

The only thing that tells me is that the "other" side doesn't care who's in office, as long as it's a republican.

Bingo. How people could be that dedicated to a letter is beyond me.

People always hate The Devil but they have to be absolutely fed up with him or he has to be out of terms before they will trade him for the unknown.
This new Devil is really skirting the bowl and may just get carried out by his own centrifugal force. The Deep Blue Sea is looking really good to me.

What horrible choices. I'd have refused to answer.

I'd take Bush over Obama.

At least bush stomped Kyoto.

At least bush gave tax cuts.

They are cut from the same cloth though :(

He probley stomped on Kyoto becuse they werent ready for it yet. They had to get Homeland Security set up, pass the Patriot Act, gut the Bill of Rights, set up the CCTV around America, get the Real ID Act in place, ane let Al Gore and the Greens brain wash American's and thier kids first before alloweing Kyoto and Global Warming take over.

Tax cuts are useless without cutting spending.

Is that really a shocker? If Bush ran against Obama Bush would have probably had about 44%

What I am more interested in is the number of people who voted for Obama, but would now vote for Ron Paul.

"44% of americans are idiots then."

There's a lot more than that...
They can't see that this should be a bi-partisan effort to rid the land of the Federal Reserve but both sides are still thinking in terms of "the best of two evils."

^ Do you believe these polls are authentic?

LOL

They are only trying to inject some card balance into the Obama's race card. Nothing more, nothing less.

How do they ask that question?

You must choose one: Obama or GW? "Other" is not an option. "Neither" is not an option. "Take your poll and shove it" is an option, but you won't be counted. ;)

I'd take Bush over Obama for the same reason the powers-that-be wanted Obama --> Bush's credibility was completely shot. His ability to trick people into accepting the globalist agenda was just about zero. Obama, on the other hand, people actually think his sh*t doesn't stink. Obama is an excellent tool to bring about the agenda of the one-party system.

Tax cuts are useless without cutting spending.

Not totally true. History shows revenue goes up after tax cuts, because more people join the work force.

The problem is spending always goes UP.

Over Obama.

That's the key point. They're only given two terrible choices.

Those who compromise in the voting booth - people like Hannity - love this stat as it seems to justify their idiocy.

But again, the people are only given two choices. They should offer a third question - "Would you prefer to see neither of these men in office and a new candidate?"

I'm thinking that option would win rather easily.

The poll was 50% Obama and 44% Bush.

What did the other 6% say? I assume it was "other" or "no preference"

My bad. Didn't do the math. I hope that the 6% said "take that poll and shove it"! ;)

Reminds me of the Daily Show making fun of a Fox poll that added up to 120%...and none of the talking heads realized it (or tried to cover). :D

Ah ha! A supply-sider!

I too have come to the conclusion that spending is the key...
