Not to my knowledge. Ron had to pay 25K to get registered as a candidate in S.C., though.

To get on S.C primary ballot?

Correct. He had to do that to get in the debate. Ballot access laws in some states suck.

It might be better if there was a fee because then the moderators would have more obligation to be fair when allotting questions.

I had gotten a message from the ronpaul2008 saying it cost $25,000 to be in the SC debate. Then asked for a contribution.
