The fourth candidate to take on Ron Paul in the 2010 GOP primary in the 14th District of Texas has announced to take on the good doctor and one time Presidential candidate. It is VERY early in the election cycle and surely some of these men will drop out, but Ron Paul Faces Primary, but No Democratic Challenger

Thus Far the question is do they all really understand electoral math? With five candidates potentially on the ballot running for one seat, the numbers historically and overwhelming break for the incumbent. This is especially true when an incumbent has the proven fundraising abilities that Dr. Paul has. The question arises should these men try to rally around one candidate and use all of their resources to force Ron Paul out of office?

We can take a candidate like Jerry Cherry who happens to be an educator. Mr. Cherry appears to agree with Dr. Paul on a majority of issues when it comes to general governance. He does possibly vary from him on the matter of disaster relief which Dr. Paul consistently votes against as a matter of principle. Cherry argues that Paul's view is out the mainstream and that many farmers and other constituents in the 14th District of Texas would benefit from a disaster relief package. The fact of the matter is that the whole idea of disaster relief being enough to torpedo a political institution such as Congressman Ron Paul is hard to believe.

To be perfectly honest with you, the Democratic Party in the 14th District of Texas has been silent about running against Ron Paul since 2006 when outstanding challenger, businessman and rancher Shane Sklar was defeated by Paul by a 60-40 margin. Shane's work with Chet Edwards may or may not have been helpful in defeating Dr. Paul within this extremely conservative Congressional District. I plan on contacting Shane Sklar soon to find out if the Democrats have anyone lined up to challenge Dr. Paul after he is likely to survive the primary as noted by most pundits.

The latest challenger in this GOP primary a businessman by the name of Tim Graney apparently brings the criticism of Dr. Paul spending too much time promoting his book and running for President in order to be a Congressman. One of the other challengers in the race appears to be a veteran

of United States Army, Gerald Wall. It is worth questioning exactly how much criticism Ron Paul will take over his views on foreign policy in 2010.

As the economy gets even worse, people are going to care less and less about empire-building in foreign countries. Even if they're scared about "terrorists".

If anyone starts to look like they have a chance of beating Dr. Paul we will just money bomb him and crush the challenger with overwhelming firepower. Unlike most candidate's supporters we stick our money on the line.

Huge distraction. These people are nobodies. In 2008, way too much time and energy was spent fretting about the possibility that another nobody would defeat Ron Paul in the primary. They don't have a chance.

Ya know what's funny?

I just went to Jeff Cherry's website, and apparently his supporters are ardent non-interventionists despite his own interventionist stances

Take a look at the poll on his website..
