I first heard of him in 1990(I was 10 at the time) when I was reading the World Almanac on the 1988 Presidential campaign. He caught my attention because he recieved so few votes. I forgot about him till late 2000 when I joined a swimming pool membership and someone at the pool told me about a congressman from Texas named Dr. No and this was shortly after I voted for Harry Browne. I went and looked him up on the internet and found it was the same guy that I read about in the 1990 Wold Almanac. I was impressed on how as a libertarian he was a federal congressman when libertarians have not went higher then the local level.

What about all of you?

After the Giuliani moment.

I saw a youtube video a week after I happened. I totally tripped on how people cheered for Giuliani even though he was totally wrong.

I thought it was a big deal that a politician was actually telling the truth. I was still skeptical, so I thoroughly researched him for a few months and now here I am.

I saw him mentioned in an article by the great Harry Browne back around 2000, right after I discovered I was a Libertarian.

A yard sign. Then a debate. Then Facebook. Then Youtube. Then I was hooked. It took me a lot of impressions for the name to stick and then even more before I went and checked him out.

Saw parts of the first debate, but wasn't watching attentively. Think I was hooked after Colbert.

I think I heard about him on Coast to Coast with George Noory. They were talking about Ron Paul and how even though he's winning these debates, he gets no coverage. I did some online research and it was obvious to me he is the best candidate by far.

First on Digg, then on his old website which had no substantial info about him then on the debates to see what was getting all the diggers fired up. The first clips I saw of him were when he would list a bunch of departments he would eliminate and I thought to myself this guy is nuts but when I heard his explanation everything fell into place. It all made sense!!! Then I discovered I had been libertarian leaning all my life but I just didn't think people like that existed!

After watching Zeitgeist (http://zeitgeistmovie.com), I starting researching more about the Federal Reserve and came across Dr. Paul.. this was bout 6 months ago.. Although I've heard the name "Dr. No" tossed around quite a bit over the past few years but never paid too much attention..

I first heard of him in 2004, later in Aarono Russo's America: Freedom to Facism documentary in 2006, and then heard about his campaign in March of 2006. Been a hardcore supporter ever since, spreading the word any way I can.

Get this, I'm a Christian and the first I heard of RP he had voted AGAINST a marriage Amendment because he thought the government didn't have authority to determine marriage. The hosts of the radio show I was listening to were not happy. And I thought wow now that takes balls and principal.

1988 (I was 9 years old). My parents voted for him (I was a rebellious young Republican who supported Bush 41).

I came home from work and my boyfriend said "get this, there is a guy running for president who wants to abolish the IRS" "isn't that awesome"
I said, yeah who is he... he said a republican from texas and I about lost it... We are both very anti government/anti regulation in every way and I thought, Oh yeah a republican from texas... I don't care if he wants to give me diplomatic immunity, I wouldn't vote for him... he showed me some clips from the first debate and I said Yeah ok hes saying all the right things, hows his record.... we started researching, watched F2F and I decided I would vote for him

I saw aravoth's what we choose to ignore video and it scared the shit out of me. i then vowed to do everything in my power to help get RP elected, and I have been working my booty off ever since :)

I first head about him in early 2005, a few months after I became a libertarian. IIRC, I was reading something about the Republican Liberty Caucus.
