McCain Says Money Not All That Important
By JIM DAVENPORT – 1 hour ago
CAMDEN, S.C. (AP) — Republican John McCain says he's "not overjoyed" by his recent fundraising but that it's not that big a deal.
"If money mattered, I think (Nelson) Rockefeller would be president — would have been president — of the United States," the Arizona senator said in an interview with The Associated Press Wednesday.
McCain said he wouldn't talk about financial details for the just-ended third quarter.
"Honestly I have no idea. They told me they're still opening mail," McCain said. "I don't have a final number yet, but I'm pleased with them — not overjoyed but pleased with them."
McCain said the campaign finished the quarter with money in the bank, and Republicans familiar with his fundraising say he will report more than $5 million for the quarter. He's still facing the prospect of running a publicly financed campaign.

Mccain is a chump and losing steam. He'll go broke and won't even have enough to buy gas to get to the debates.
Is Balrog/Fred going to be in the cnbc debate? Hope so.

McCain? The same McCain that sponsored the biggest CFR boondoggle in the history of American politics because money was such a problem?

What changed in 10 years, John McCain?

The first rule about McCain's fund-raising is you don't talk about McCain's fund-raising.

LOL i bet that is so very true. I speculate he will try to weasel his way out of reporting his debt. But I assume he is probably more along the lines of 2-4mill with 3 mill in debt.

Well, If youre a lunatic that has zero chance to win even if he had 10 billion, like McCain, I would have to agree that money isnt important.:D

Guess he'll have to get his 50,000 meetup members to volunteer for him...

I read that he's loaned himself $17 million total so far...
Of course he'd say that when he doesn't have money; when he does have money, he'd say that having a lot of cash on hand reflects his campaign's strength.
