Vermont Campaign for Liberty Hosts Annual Convention in Montpelier

Montpelier - While this past year has seen enormous growth in political awareness and activism throughout the state and the nation, the Vermont Campaign for Liberty hopes its January convention will inspire even more citizen involvement.
This year's convention will focus on the Campaign's core beliefs in liberty, fiscal responsibility, limited government, and free markets. It will be January 9, 2010 from 10 am to 1 pm at the Vermont State House in Montpelier, and is open to the public.

"This convention is a celebration of the first full year of the Vermont Campaign for Liberty," said Steven Howard, Interim State Coordinator. "A year ago the liberty movement was splintered and demoralized, unsure of itself and its strengths. Now, we are coming together with the realization that this movement transcends party label and social background."

Speakers from across the spectrum of liberty-oriented groups in Vermont and the greater New England area will present, including: Tom Licata, founder of Vermonters for Economic Health, who will discuss Vermont's precarious economic situation; Pasha Roberts from Lineplot LLC, who will discuss his production company's latest project, an animated liberty-oriented film; Rick Bornemann, president of the Ethan Allen Institute; and Representative Dan Itse of NH, leader of the state sovereignty/10th Amendment movement in NH. In addition, Vermont Campaign for Liberty members Jessica Bernier, Matt Cropp, Maurice Kinney and Audrey Pietrucha will speak. Also speaking are representatives of liberty activism groups from New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Mr. Howard said he hopes the gathering will further energize a newly-awakened citizenry.

"I hope they come away with a real sense of ownership over our government." he said. "They should feel empowered to go out and act on their knowledge and convictions with the realization that they are not alone. In fact, they are part of a larger movement."

Bump :)

The convention is just a few days away! So excited.

I was on the radio for an hour yesterday talking about VT C4L and the convention, the show went very well. Today another member and I are going to an event at the State House. He will be dressed like V and we'll be passing out fliers for the convention.

In other news, we asked the VT ACLU to have a table at our event. Get this: Since we are an organization with a "political" message, they will have to decline our invitation.

Reeeeaaallly :(
