Ron Paul's base is young, internet savvy, motivated and active.

Mainstream candidates bases are old, computer illiterate and apathetic.

It's the same deal with the online polls. Paul's base is young and on the internet, so he is obviously going to do well in online polls. Now, when you do a land line phone poll his numbers are going to drop in a big way. This is because 1, his base is over-represented on the internet, and 2, phone polls generally go out to homeowners of which Ron Paul supporters are an under-represented group since they are generally college students (no permanent residence) or young adults (renters). There are exceptions, but this will always skew Ron's numbers HUGE from the internet to reality.

If Presidents were picked by internet polls or youtube counts, there's no question Dr. Paul's address would be on Pennsylvania avenue.
