I'm pretty sure that Goldwater actually had principles, and could write speeches that didn't make him sound like a complete idiot.

barry goldwater or harold stassen? when john mccain picked her, i quipped
that he just kept alaska in the union, and then i wondered if she'd be a fixture
on the political map in 2020 given that she's fortysomething going on fiftysomething
right now. mike huckabee's judgement calls in light of the shooting of the four
police officers in washington state will indirectly boost mitt romney and ms. sarah
inside the RNC. i think that even though she can easily polarize a room, she has
more than a nuisance potential in terms of barack obama's re-electon chances!!!

Why do we need to constantly make comparisons to Goldwater? The Palin comparison is the most comedic by far and insulting.

This is the first Goldwater thread I've seen in quite awhile.
