If Ron Paul runs and wins in 2012, who do you think he would nominate to fill cabinet positions.

We all know he will abolish every dept. but State, Treasury, Defense, Justice, and Interior. Although, he still has to choose someone to lead lead the dept.

VP is also included.

They are ranked from 1st to last, so Dennis Kucinich would be first for VP.
This is what I think:

President -- RON PAUL
Vice President -- Dennis Kucinich/Gary Johnson/Jesse Ventura

State -- Chuck Hagel/Christopher Preble/Pat Buchanan (a thought)
Treasury -- Peter Schiff (This one is awesome)
Justice -- Robert M. Owens (Maybe, he probably has the best chance.)
Defense -- Christopher Preble/Chuck Hagel
Interior -- Gary Johnson/Jesse Ventura

I will not bother w/all the other dept. you guys can go right ahead. We all know they are big government, and wasteful spending projects. If I were Ron Paul I would keep nominating wackos for the useless depts. and have the senate keep turning them down, until they decided to get rid of them.

They won't get rid of the departments if you do that. Instead, the rank-and-file working in the departments will step up and run them. Those departments are actually more important than the other ones. What he would need to do is place people who could effectively wind the departments down, and then during the budgeting, make sure they get hardly any money. If they get no money, they will have to downsize. Keep downsizing them every year, and by the fourth year, the department will be so small that discontinuing it will make sense.

I dont care how you do it just get rid of them!

And I am sure you agree with that.

If him and Kucinich teamed up, I'd renounce my hatred of party politics for however long it takes to get them elected. That kind of anti-authoritarian left-right union would wreck everyone's shit.

If nothing else, that'd be the funniest looking political couple ever. Now we just need Nader's droopy lip and the holy triumvirate is complete.

agreed, but Kucinich is one of the few polticians today that are principled, like Dr. Paul.

Kucinich is a union nut -- he has something in common with Ron Paul, they are both nuts AND SO AM I!!!!!!! AND PROUD OF IT!

Kucinich has stated that if he won the democratic nomination, he would choose Ron Paul has his running mate. Ron Paul himself said that he supported him to get the dem. nomination and that they are really close friends. They vote the same way on foreign policy, and on social issues.

It would be a true bipartisan ticket, yes sir, it would.

I'm all for this thing called "hope" but to think that Paul would actually win the presidency is an exercise in delusion. One, he's way too old and folks will never vote for him b/c of that alone. Two, the vast majority of voters do not want Paul as president. Let's be realistic here. That is, unless this is just for fun.

of course its for fun...but I am hopeful...PARTY POOPER!!

NO Andrew Nap. needs to be saved for a Supreme Court nomination, not cabinet!

Hell no. He's one of the most consistently socialist democrats. That's like suggesting that Paul runs with Nader.

Have you read my above post!

Ron Paul already said he would have, so deal with it!

Is there a reason we're worried about the cart before we even have a horse?

Kucinich is a commie. An honest commie who deserves respect maybe. But still a commie.

You would be correct.

Kucinich being the vp wouldn't be the worst thing, but I think Dr. Paul can do better. A lot of Kucinich's views really trouble me.

Akus: Before anyone even knew what a horse was, you mean. ;)actually, and I corrected myself, I meant to refer to the "carT before the horse" hyperbole. 2012 is ways away, Ron Paul is unlikely to run and this is that much more absurd that this is presented as a serious discussion. We should be worried about 2010 and make sure Rand and Debra win the spots they're fighting for.

Don't forget Schiff. Schiff is way more important to get elected than Rand.

For some reason every time some one says Schiff I am thinking of Judy Dench's M saying (with her impeccable British accent of course)...

"our sources indicate that Schiff is running a high stake money bomb to fund his organAYzation"....
