I'm not so sure. They very could well be but China stands to gain a lot if they put just a minimal amount of effort and pledge to reduce co2 modestly it puts more pressure on the EU and US to do reduce even more. If china pressures us and gets our govt to play ball it ends up with china having an even better position competitively as they certainly won't be burdening their businesses with even close to the same level of restrictions... I'm sure they are licking their chops at the possibility of the US and EU even further hampering themselves...

I have bad feeling that it is 'full steam ahead' regardless of what evidence anyone produces.

Forgive my ill confidence, as hope rests on the fact that each country is sending their top lair and thief. It goes without saying that these men were not elected because they do the right thing, on the contrary, they are in power because they are the grey film that rises and forms on the top of dirty dish water.

And who are we to deny their moment to write themselves into the historical record as heroes. History has been very favorable to dictators and tyrants for the most part - just ask any high school kid about Lincoln. In 50 years from now Bush will be the Great "W" who took the world to war against the evil terrorists; making the world safe for socialism (socialism will be synonymous with liberty by 2060).
