I think they're worried he's gonna go rogue and start to act like he's really in charge.

I hope he does.

Chaos would be better than sure progression toward elitist goals.

That would be refreshing.
Hell, even if it was wrong still it would be better than what he's done so far.

If he starts going against their plans he will be killed.

Could you expand on this theory a little?

Bob Ainsworth secrety controls Obama. But now he's worried that Obama won't obey him. So he gives an interview to the British Telegraph to get him in line. Because nobody disobeys the Telegraph. And according to the guy a couple posts down if he disobeys he'll be killed.

Do I have all that right?

My theory is that Obama, and most recent presidents as well ('cept maybe George I to a lesser extent) is basically a well-educated, corporate PR man who doesn't really have any executive control. I'm sure he has as much input as the sales team at a large company, but he's totally committed to the policies which he promised he'd represent. That's why his Foreign Affairs mag foreign policy candidate essay said exactly what he's since done in Afghanistan. These types of agreements and meetings are like contracts with very powerful, ruthless people. I'm sure he has some leeway as to execution, 'cause they keep him busy with photo ops and the like. But when the order comes down to surge in Afghanistan and sell it to the American public, he seems to be dragging his feet a little. The reaction from the British is timeless. They're tired of his "dithering", which is making it harder on them to sell the war to their own public district. This whole theory on the presidency is not wholly illogical. We have the most powerful military in the world. You can't have some random populist actor come off the street every four years to end the world potentially, so some more permanent, reliable interests truly run the show. However, given this structure of power, there's always the possibility that someone has closet inclinations that haven't been detected even after years of grooming and testing. The actor realizes that he has a private army protecting him and that everyone thinks he's the president, and therefore it's more true. So they could start maybe avoiding calls (or snub Gordon Brown), as they become more independent, actually sitting in the White House, I'm sure it's disorienting. Also, Obama doesn't come from the most pampered upper class family like most presidents. His behavior could be divergent. Also, I'm sure that Michelle secretly harbors an abstract animosity toward the white power structure. She's from a working class black American family, after all, and was thoroughly trained in racial self-consciousness in the Ivy Leagues. Obama is stuck between a rock and a hard place if he begins to harbor thoughts of becoming a rogue independent, like Kennedy. I hope he does throw away the whole script and start governing from a common sense, regular American perspective. I mean, how would you react if you personally abhored the war, knew it was a charade, and that we had other reasons to be there, but you were perfectly aware through the whole process that you were not to have real executive power. That's an illusion for the rabble. It is sort of ridiculous to think that anyone can just be elected and then run the country. Can you imagine if Sarah Palin, or Joe Biden, or senile Reagan actually had their finger on the button? Or if every four years you had to retrain the actor elect about all the geopolitical happenings and interests and aims and operations that are constantly ongoing and then let them run it with all their prejudices, ignorance, and shortcomings?

I mean, don't get me wrong. Obama has tremendous responsibility as the symbolic figurehead of the US. He can't be some unstable person. I'm sure he believes that his best role is to do his best acting, for the stability and security of the country. Naturally, you let specialists make decisions about troop surges and the like. He just has to sit at a desk with some papers shuffled around and take the staged photos for the AP.

To me, Obama is looking stressed, despite the golfing expeditions and personal chef. He knows, individually, what policies are reasonable to the public and what he must do to be popular, the most wildly popular president ever. He's not stupid. He knows what polls are. However, it's not his decision. It's like being a soap actor who finds out he's been made the villain by the writers. What are you gonna do? Then they probably always try to blame it on his sales ability. People are unhappy, they don't understand policy, so it must be YOUR fault! We thought you were this great people person!

Notice the supreme irony:

Here's a powerful piece of propaganda. There are so many lies and distortions in this article, I'm not surprised most people are totally fooled.

And, action!

We have a power establishment which includes people who live underground with nuclear missiles. So much of our government is literal theater and it's not pleasant to see through a fairy tale that you've been indoctrinated with since at least 5 years old. Especially when you're forced to admit that it's extremely pragmatic and necessary, perhaps. I can't really imagine a better scenario.
