Quote:

In an unprecedented defeat for the Federal Reserve, an amendment to audit the multi-trillion dollar institution was approved by the House Finance Committee with an overwhelming and bipartisan 43-26 vote on Thursday afternoon despite harried last-minute lobbying from top Fed officials and the surprise opposition of Chairman Barney Frank (D-Mass.), who had previously been a supporter.

Anyone who believed Frank would do otherwise was kidding themselves. Those were little soundbites for good press from the Liberty side. He's always been a liar, why would he have a change of heart now? I truly believe some of these guys are thinking, "my days are numbered anyway, Americans are so pissed off at all politicians, so I'm gonna screw as much of this up as I can before the gravy train derails."

Frank was sympathetic to the bill for political reasons only. No surprises here... :o

I posted about the outcry over Watt's gutting of RP bill, that we are going after the wrong guy. Barney Frank set Watt up to take the hit and keep the blame off of himself. Frank is the worse kind of weasel. He has been against it from the begining but was trying to use the massive support to get his banking regulation bill passed.

Well played Barney.

I think we need to focus on getting Frank ousted next time around. I'm not usually one to campaign AGAINST someone, but he really deserves it.

The sad thing is this looting of the treasury has been going on ever since the 60's...... but it has absolutely EXPLODED in recent years. $300 billion bailout turns to $500 turns to $700..........$1 trillion for "health care reform," trillions overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Why is this a surprise? Barney Frank's boyfriend was the CEO of Fannie Mae. He was literally in bed with the banksters.
