View Full Version : Operation Jefferson Alpha - Setting up a Table at a College!

Okay everyone, I am back from Walmart and my classes are over.

Little personal background: I am an adult student at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC (this past summer I was at Columbia which was great, but I was unable to do much Paul campaigning). Some background on the school: approx 1500 traditional students noted for being quite left of center, activist, anti-war. A ripe target, if I can harness the antiwar spirit.

Tomorrow I am putting out a table with two signs (one that says 'Ron Paul' and the other with some phrase like 'register for peace'). I will have North Carolina voter registration forms, two flyers (they will be the ones that leave out the abortion issue - I am prolife, but I am not going to attempt explaining to people his nuanced position unless it absolutely came up), and a cooler and cookies.

This is my first time taking clear cut action politically (ever). I am also doing this alone so I am sure it will be a learning experience. Does anyone have any tips to share? Also, I want to get a bunch of pocket Constitutions but do not want to support the quisling CATO so I am looking for a supplier.

My meetup group is setting up two tables at my university tomorrow. This will be our 3rd event there and they've gone very well so far. If you can afford it, I suggest buying some bottled water and/or soda, icing them down and offering them for free.

I have a cooler ready. As Cartman said in the South Park movie, 'more people will come if we have punch and pie!'

Try to bring a laptop (if you have wifi access) to get some donations going as well
