I was just reading Root's book and he gets the definition of an earmark totally wrong. He defines earmarks as off-budget spending.

So what's everybody have to say about this?

He's a war-mongering neocon.

Not sure about the entire explanation. I know that ear-marks do not add to the budget, they are simply allocations of said budget. Dunno what he means by "off-budget"

Well he calls off-budget things like the war spending earmarks. He gets the definition of an earmark totally wrong.

I hadn't heard great things about Root, but I wanted to read his book to get a perspective of where the Libertarian Party was going after Bob Barr. They are sacrificing their soul.

People give this guy so much flak. Can you provide me with any examples of him not being a libertarian? (this means don't mention anything about some shady things he has done in business unrelated to politics)

We'll see where we are headed come 2010 and 2012. I have some hope that we will return to the Rothbard LP, and not the Barr LP....If it's the Barr LP in 2010/12 I will officially be "Independant". The LP was the last refuge for Anarcho-Capitalists. Rothbard tried, let's try to keep the LP staunchly principled in all it's workings, otherwise it would have been all in vain.

RIP Murray...RIP.

I don't like W.A.R whatsoever. As someone said before, he is an infiltrator.
