Anymore? I have never seen or heard of such a thing every flown at all. Could you give me the last time in US history that a verticle striped flag representing the American people was flown? If ever, I know it wouldn't have had 50 stars.

Okay, I looked it up. I wonder about the symbology. The Civil flag pictured in the history shows 16 verticle stripes, but doesn't say what its symbology is. The flag is purportedly derived from turning the British East India Company flag on its side. But that flag has only 9 stripes

After more research, It is the Customs Duty flag. A tax collector's flag. I don't think it represents liberty at all.

I'm thinking of erecting a flagpole. The Gadsden flag, a banner with the list of taxes found here http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=212980, and then PCOSMAR's "Time's up" flag at the bottom.

I say we stop living in the past, and create our future. Let somebody (anyone but me) create a new flag. Something that can be iconic and adopted by all those who consider themselves a defender of liberty.

Think Marketing... What message do we want to project? --- Constitution? Founding Fathers? Revolution? Passivism? Libertarianism? For me, retro is in. I like the Threeper flag, or three percenter flag.

What is a "Three Percenter"?
During the American Revolution, the active forces in the field against the King's tyranny never amounted to more than 3% of the colonists. They were in turn actively supported by perhaps 10% of the population. In addition to these revolutionaries were perhaps another 20% who favored their cause but did little or nothing to support it. Another one-third of the population sided with the King (by the end of the war there were actually more Americans fighting FOR the King than there were in the field against him) and the final third took no side, blew with the wind and took what came.

Over a year ago we talked about this.

I don't think it matters what flag you have. If anything, have a flag for your own family unit for all I care. I like flags. A field of flags looks awesome. All sorts of designs.

Some feel we have to use the USA flag because that is what vets died for. I sort of disagree. Vets should have died for liberty, not the USA flag.

My advice is use whatever flag you want and don't expect to herd any cats into the same flag anytime soon. I can envision a situation where hundreds of flags are flown at rallies and over time one becomes the defacto favorite. Right now it seems to be the "Don't Tread On Me" flag.

The USA flag won't be going out of style anytime soon.

Nice one but I prefer the original Moultrie Flag later adopted as the flag of the Minute Men of SC. I still don't know whether the crescent shape was suppose to be a crescent (as in moon) or a gorget. There's still a lot of debate on the matter. ;)

FLAG, n. A colored rag borne above troops and hoisted on forts and ships. It appears to serve the same purpose as certain signs that one sees and vacant lots in London — "Rubbish may be shot here."

I love my state's flag.

California became an independent nation for a little while. All we have left is the flag. With a star and stripe stamped on it.

Some feel we have to use the USA flag because that is what vets died for. I sort of disagree. Vets should have died for liberty, not the USA flag.

I couldn't agree more...

In 1892, a Nationalist / socialist, Francis Bellamy penned the Pledge of allegiance (to the "FLAG" and without "God"). Here is excerpt from Rex Curry's website. (http://rexcurry.net/pledge.html) Visit that site for all of the sorted history of Bellamy's brainwashing chant. Prepare yourself for a shock. ------- The sad thing is that Bellamy's socialist plan has actually worked... or at least almost.

Bellamy belonged to a group known for "Nationalism," whose members wanted the federal government to nationalize most of the domestic economy. He saw government schools as a means to that end. It was a view later shared in the military-socialist complex of the socialist trio of atrocities.

In his Pledge of Allegiance, Francis Bellamy is expressing the ideas of his first cousin, Edward Bellamy, author of the American socialist utopian novels, Looking Backward (1888) and Equality (1897).

Bellamy’s “Looking Backward” is about a man who sleeps from 1887 until the year 2000. The United States has become one giant socialist monopoly (excuse the redundancy). The book openly portrays men treated as military draftees, from the age of twenty-one until the age of forty-five, in the U.S.’s industrial army. Before the age of twenty-one, men attend one enormous school system of government schools that are an integral part of creating the industrial army in the socialist system. Bellamy’s glorification of the military includes government assignment of all jobs. Everyone is issued ration cards which are used to draw goods from government storehouses. Everyone is forced to have only the same amount in value annually.

If Bellamy's plan had come to full fruition, we would be flying a flag similar to one of these...
