Good for Tancredo for walking out? He didn't walk out because he disagreed with him. He walked out because he got played for the tool he is. Markos delivered one of the best one-liners I've ever seen on live TV to a politician, "I am a veteran. I didn't get a deferment because I was too depressed to fight in a war I supported..."

Now, I agree Markos was dead wrong on almost everything...but "well done" to Tancredo? Fat chance.

wtf is this guy talking about? Does he really think the Dems won because the citizens changed their hearts? Or was it because. . . there was no republican on the ballot?

Meh, I don't care for Kos or agree with the point he was making but I do like seeing chickenhawk put on the old rotisserie every once in a while.

I'll guarantee Markos doesn't avail himself to the VA hospitals for his needs.

Check Daily CIAdas.
It's real easy. Go to Kos, do a search for Kos CIA. You don't even have to be a member to do a search there. It's been posted here before, but it's silly to keep linking to those entries again and again. I can't stand giving that TOOL the traffic...
He's got diaires... lol
He tells ya himself-
(oh, he also tells ya he'd be glad to take another job there at any time)

(shocker- Kos is now PRO OBAMA WAR)

Not exactly a shocker, he's always been a loyal pro-war Democrat:
2005: "...I’m still fairly much a military hawk ... Afghanistan was a perfectly justifiable war." (link (http://www.q-and-a.org/Transcript/?ProgramID=1018))
2007: "there’s just no doubt [that fighting and winning the war on terror is in the top three priorities]." (link (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20214115/page/2/))

And on Ron Paul: "Is it any wonder that neo-Nazis are flocking to his campaign? But Paul is against the war in Iraq and he wants FREEDOM! So that must make his racism okay." (link (http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2007/12/26/85617/090))

But all of this has no bearing on whether Tom Tancredo is a chickenhawk...

I don't even get it. What was so offensive? Am I missing something or am I just that stupid? Either way, the daily kos dude is clearly a scumbag. He speaks like any other elitist. The VA? My father is prescribed drugs at even the semblance of pain. The doctors don't care what the actual problem is. They just throw drugs at him. Anecdotal I guess. Nonetheless, the case against Medicare is obvious. It hasn't worked, it doesn't work, and it will only get worse. Did this elitist a-hole dare to look at the overwhelming unfunded liabilities? And that is JUST from care for seniors. What will happen when a majority of the population is involved?

No hijacking intended (PMs maybe?), but anyone have some good reads to better understand the healthcare system. As an emerging "adult", I really haven't learned the system so when I try making the case against universal healthcare, it seems rather futile.

Funny how the Democrats like to pretend they had a crushing defeat of a solid Republican seat that hadnt been lost in 150 years.

The Republican candidate withdrew from the race. . .

Its like in Houston when Tom Delay resigned, leaving no Republican candidate. The Republicans staged a write-in candidate, and the Dems STILL only managed to win 51-43

You can make the case on purely economic praxeological grounds and totally destroy the universal healthcare myth. I made a post about this yesterday, let me find it....

Here it is:

Personally, I think if you read Human Action you can obliterate all their stances. For one, the last post he has no understanding whatsoever of moral hazard. If people believe they are receiving something for free; that is taxation is an indirect out of the eye form of theft -- those people are more likely to use the scarce resources quickly and inefficiently. They have no incentive not to. The converse of that is true. This is why you see rationing, worse care, waiting lines, shortfalls of equipment, doctors, nurses, supplies, etc.

When one thinks of economics you have to always presume first and foremost that we live in a world of scarce resources. People make decisions based on the scarcity of resources. When the free-market is left to it's devices, it uses the tool of prices to control the outgoing, and incoming supply of those scarce resources. When you abdicate that control mechanism -- pricing -- which is essential to all economics (it is an immutable law), you will wind up with a defunct system. The people in the free-market will only use such resources as they see fit. That is, the cost to benefit that each individual makes when deciding to purchase goods, use services, and otherwise conduct commerce in the market place. When you take that away, and people have no adverse incentive, then those scarce resources will be used up frivously and quickly. This is self-evident, and is an axiomatic economic law.

For the rest, you can argue based on morality, ethics, Natural Law. Use Rothbards Ethics of Liberty, or other crescendo works like Road to Serfdom to highlight the ineptness of socialism. In short, it is the tragedy of the commons. When he brings up American socialism, juxtapose the destruction it wrecks by using Economics in One Lesson. Secondly, expand upon that by tying it in to Government debt (slavery), Central Banking (Fiat Monetary Policy), etc. Ask him, if he believes it is moral to steal from the future, by paying for programs today. That is what he is doing. A good recap of this Hamiltonian-Mercantilist, thought can be found within The Curse of Hamilton by Di'Lorenzo.

Really, it is easy to deconstruct and destroy every thing they bring up. It only takes a bit of reading and understanding. Good luck!

Thanks Austrian. That'll help quite a bit even though it was not exactly what I was asking for. That post will be great to get my point across, but I meant is there anywhere that I can read how the healthcare system functions right now and how its developed over the year. This way I can actually understand what others are trying to say. And just for general knowledge. But thanks again, Austrian.

Tancredo got called out for being the chickenhawk that he is. He is a warmonger and deserves all the abuse he receives.
