Or will they hold off to see what happens next?

I think you will see an increase in contractors instead of employees.

I am taking a corporate class and we are learning that currently the key for a person in getting hired is to know the company that you want to work for inside and out. Show them where they can save money. Every company will hire, even ones that are having promblems, as long as you can save them money and improve productivity. Couple this with honesty, and a pleasant, but not phony personality in the interview, and a person stands a good chance of getting hired.

I'm hiring. I used to do Subs, but despite the regulations, I have learned to prefer employees because I have more control over their activities.
Most of what Yum Yum says is true.

Overall hiring will probably not pick up until their sales do- even then they will just give current workers more to do before they take on new hires. It will take a long time to get unemployment down this go round.
