He was reciting a list of Republican representatives and how many people in their district died "because they didn't have insurance."

"It's quite counterintuitive and it's not a message that most people, including myself, want to hear," said Kronick, a professor of family and preventive medicine at the University of California at San Diego. However, "the evidence we have concerning the relationship between lack of insurance and mortality is not very good, and a reasonable reading of that evidence is that the number of deaths in the United States probably wouldn't change a lot if everybody gets health insurance."

In 2002, the Institute of Medicine, which advises politicians and the public, estimated that uninsured people are 25 percent more likely to die than the insured. The Institute estimated that 18,000 adults in the United States would survive each year instead of dying if they had insurance. An updated 2006 estimate using the same approach boosted the number to 22,000.

In his analysis, Kronick examined a national study that tracked 643,001 people who responded to health surveys from 1986 to 2000, with researchers following them through 2002.

After adjusting figures to account for factors such as income and "health status," Kronick found that having insurance made little or no difference to the overall mortality rate for people ages 18 to 64.

He estimates that no more than 9,000 people die each year who would otherwise survive if they had health insurance.

Certain members of this board seem to have a weird obsession over liberal congressmen. And any Republican congressman who slightly differs from Ron Paul is a 'Neo-Con.' Hopefully this video wakes a few people up.

Oh and hopefully Republicans will knock Grayson out of office in 2010.

I just put the thread up because he mentioned Ron Paul in his speech.

Also, what do you mean by "slightly differs"?

I was referring to members of the board who have praised and donated to Alan Grayson in the past. Despite the fact he is a hardcore socialist and against everything Ron Paul stands for. Hence why I said they were 'obsessed' with him and his ilk. I'm glad you posted this video so people can see what Grayson is really like.

I doubt you can name two regular forum members who donated to Alan Grayson.

Most of us here have only praised the support he has given when it comes to 1207.

I'm not naming names but if you look under the "Alan Grayson moneybomb" thread you can see supporting comments. Also, I find it hard to believe you would be so surprised by this-- considering there were active members of this board who voted for Obama in 08.

And his rantings on the Federal Reserve were nothing short of retarded. Seriously, complaining about the Fed loaning money to New Zealand? What is the big deal? They will have to pay us back with interest. I would prefer if he left it up to people like Ron Paul debating Bernanke.

I'm simply saying I doubt there are more than two or three members here who support him with donations.

I would agree that he is not worthy of a donation.

He's for auditing the Fed. He is a large reason why there are so many Democratic co-sponsors to the bill in the House.

But yeah, on other issues, he probably disagrees with Dr. Paul.

When someone like Sarah Palin 'slightly differs', you're goddamn right to call them neocons.

Exactly. Having "interventionist" in a description of your philosophy as opposed to "non-interventionist" is not a slight difference. ;)

No one with any sense believes that Grayson is anything other than a statist. Nonetheless, the Republicans are not any better. They're just tricksier. We need to get out from under this left-right, Rep-Dem nonsense and judge each individual independently.
