FYI for everyone but it will be tough for Trevor to update the site since each campaign needs to communicate back since the donations have to be made at each candidates website (FEC rules make it difficult to do otherwise).

Towne for Congress has raised about $300 so far this morning. Even $5 would be great, really want to see a lot of donors. This is the post I wrote to commemorate the occasion. http://towneforcongress.com/economy/remember-remember-the-fifth-of-november-2

I issued a report to all donors communicating how their funds have been used to date here http://towneforcongress.com/economy/where-is-my-donation-going-november-report-1

Funds collected today are being utilized for door-to-door flyers and doorknob holders. My campaign is cash-starved but to reach 1,000 residences it costs a whopping $55-$75 plus the volunteer time (which is what is really priceless)

hey jake. do you have any copies of the flyer or door knob holders that youre currently using?? Id like to take a look at them, as running for office might be a possibility with me in the future.. I just like to get ideas from people who are actually doing it and to hear their results etc..

instead of Trevor gathering all the donation totals, why don't we have a few people do the gathering and report to Trevor? All he'll have to do is update the site. I'd totally be up for this except I'm about to go teach. I could help this evening starting at about 6pm cst.

I imagine something can be done for a ticker on any further multibombs, (I think one a quarter might be acceptable) - Maybe a form page for people to fill out after donating?

Our team is spread over the district. No-one is in the office yet... Mark (Fundraising director) is organizing a dinner 4 hrs away and he is who I always ask for reports. I'll get some preliminary numbers soon...

Need to keep pushing this all day

I'm updating manually and just started. I had to sleep last night and was up late. :)

A live ticker has it's issues. Everyone outputs data in a different way, some not at all. It's a challenge. But it would be good for down the road and yes maybe once a quarter would be good. We'll see how today goes...

Hmmm.... if we did set up a live ticker for the money bombs there is no reason not to just keep it on at all times. That would mean we would have a location to show us the total amount raised for all liberty candidates. That could be really interesting...

Nope, we probably wont have a full accounting till tomorrow. The site does not reflect the update we just sent to Trevor

There are 2 ways to go - one is buying the hangers, full color etc - I can't afford this. The other way is less professional but just as effective - hanger bags with inserts

Check out the Who Is Jake Towne flyer here

If you run for office in the future, feel free to contact me at jaketowne@gmail.com. I've learned a lot in the last few months

I donated just short of the amount needed to enter the raffle.. If i make another donation when added together exceeds the amount needed will the campaign catch it and enter me?

Towne for Congress has raised over $1413 so far from 40 donors as of 3 PM. Please consider donating. Even $5 would be great, it's great to see so many donors!!!!

This is the post I wrote to explain the 5th of November to anyone

I've sent around an email but not all of the candidates have reported a number. If anyone has a way to contact a candidate without a fundraising total please have them get in touch with me. My email is at the bottom of the website. Thank you!

Good question. I was definitely thinking that because these events are more likely to draw local support that we needed to extend to 27 hours to cover Cali. I'm not sure if we should extend beyond that..? How many hours would Hawaii add to the mix? Another two? for 29 hours total?

It gets confusing because Hawaii doesn't observe DST, they are three hours behind Cali without the DST confusion...

Trevor,

For the next such multi-candidate bomb, I suggest using the new Paypal X API system, as it would allow cross-site donations that could be tracked by a uniform counter (total donations) as well as per-candidate counters.

This would significantly ease the the logistical problems you are facing, as well as increase the power of "racing to increase the total".

Fun and likely very educational to many people. I was pleased to do my part. I actually enjoyed spending and supporting some of these candidates. If I had my choice, I'd do it all again with a different set. ;)
