If DeMint has the stones to kick his own Minority leader where it hurts, it will be a major major story. It will also make McConnell our mortal enemy if he isn't already.

Of course, Rand's fundraising success combined with the 14 point swing in 11 weeks, puts him in a potentially strong position to dispose of Grayson and actually win the seat if he can avoid an all-out swift boating from the establishment of his own party.

Do you think there's any way to make peace to avoid a nasty destructive primary?

BTW - linked to your post in latest. http://randpaul.ning.com/forum/topics/paul-surges-in-senate-race

Fortunately we are well ahead in the "conservative" republican voters:

And all the talking heads: rush, hannity etc have been railing lately about the GOP NOT becoming more moderate.

Yes, in that the talking heads are calling for an end to RINOs and the emergence of conservatives. Which plays perfectly for Rand as he is the essence of a true conservative.

That Louisville number needs some work.

if he can avoid an all-out swift boating from the establishment of his own party.Unlikely.

Do you think there's any way to make peace to avoid a nasty destructive primary? If they're smart they will concede to Rand. If not then they will try to fight Rand now and end up losing the general.

Rand Paul will get the endorsement of DeMint's Senate Conservatives Fund.

Trey Grayson will switch parties and run as the Conservative Party candidate. ;)

How will the Republican Senators that hosted that dinner for Graysen respond if he gets the nomination?

If Rand wins they'll back him, because he's likely to win the general and his conservative credentials will be something they want to attach to themselves.

That Louisville number needs some work.

Working on it. Going door to door. Canvassing seems to work.

He doesn't and he won't.

There is no logical reason to say that. DeMint's entire PAC, the Senate Conservatives Fund, was created for the sole purpose of bucking what the establishment wants. It backs the conservative in the races against the moderate the party elite want.

Just this year alone: in California, the establishment wants Florina and the SCF endorsed DeVore. In Florida the establishment wants Crist and the SCF is backing Rubio.

I think Paul will get the SCF's endorsement soon.

Ron Paul's Liberty PAC donated $1000 to the SCF.
