Hi,
I've heard it said that local governments are currently granting monopolies to certain cable companies, which is why there are so few choices in broadband cable Internet. Apparently, this is not the case.
If interested, please check out the first couple minutes of a tech network's segment called, "Who Should Own the Internet (http://cnettv.cnet.com/ep-184-who-should-own-internet/9742-1_53-50078252.html)?"
I believe this particular episode goes on to discuss net neutrality, etc.
