Only view on empty stomach.

More than 7,000 schools, churches and others have ordered a DVD version, and hundreds of teachers have written Ms. Leonard to say they have assigned students to view it on the Web.

It has also won support from independent groups that advise teachers on curriculum choices. Facing the Future, a curriculum developer for schools in all 50 states, is drafting lesson plans based on the video. And Ms. Leonard has a contract with Simon & Schuster to write a book based on the video.

It's the government's job to watch out for us, to take care of us. That's their job.

I watched it on an empty stomach, but I threw up anyway.

The reason we are able to rape third world countries like that is because the IMF goes in and pays off or installs a leader, then they make huge loans for infrastructure which they won't be able to repay.. when the country goes bankrupt, the banks use their resources as collateral. It's just as sickening if not more than what the Federal Reserve does to our country!!

The video also talked about the destruction of private property rights through the toxic pollution that occurs when we produce these types of goods overseas where labor is artificially cheap due to said banking practices.

The Golden Triangle is an excellent concept that can be applied to politics as well. They show us the infighting between the Dems and Reps, all the while they are making backroom deals and pushing the same big government agenda!!

All in all, I give the video 4.5 stars. If they talked about protecting property rights and respecting other country's sovereignty, and explained the banking thing, then bam, that's a 5 star video right there.

I haven't heard one inaccurate charge for this video, I've posted entire threads on it before and nobody, I mean nobody can actually explain what is so bad about the video.

It is their job to protect private property rights, which is essentially what she is saying. That means Ron Paul says essentially the same god damn thing.

My views align more closely with Ron Paul than yours. In fact, there isn't really much of anything I disagree with.

Ron Paul is a bigger environmentalist than any of the raging leftist environmentalists. If you can't handle that, then I'm sorry.

If you don't understand how globalist bankers take advantage of third world countries the same way they do ours, then I'm sorry.

As far as I can tell Dr. Paul is for personal property rights as long as you don't hurt your neighbor.
Is that what you mean?

Agreed. But this documentary downplays the size, power and intention of the government, leaving all the venom for the corporations. Many of these corporations could not operate without the aid of the government.

Because it shows how much toxic shit we are polluting. Global warming is a scam, period. I'm with you there... but the REASON they are making us focus on the CO2 is because it distracts people who care about the environment from focussing on the toxic pollution outlined in the film.. the toxic pollution that is hurting all of us, the toxic pollution that is breaching private property rights.. The left is being distracted with global warming so they focus on CO2, which is completely harmless, while they don't learn about private property rights and how protecting them can curb toxic pollution.

Then it talks about how the media and everyone works together to distract the consumer.. it's like how they distract everyone politically with this false left-right paradigm so that we can't see that the important thing to achieve is liberty.

Even though the displacement of people in other countries might benefit me financially, it makes me feel guilty because the people are just being scammed by banks, and they are suffering. I want to fight for freedom and an honest monetary policy in our country so we can turn ourselves around and show the world what they could do for themselves if they threw off the shackles of the central banks.

Activist Annie Leonard wrote and narrated the film. Tides Foundation, The Funders Workgroup for Sustainable Production and Consumption, Free Range Studios and other foundations funded the film.[2] Free Range Studios produced it.[3] It was first launched online on December 4, 2007

Tides Center
Tides Center is a non-profit organization in the United States which provides fiscal sponsorship for progressive groups. Tides Center is classified a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization by the IRS. The organization is based in San Francisco with offices in the Presidio.

Donors
Among hundreds of charitable foundations, the Heinz Endowments, of which Teresa Heinz Kerry is Chair, contributed $8 million to Tides Center, mainly for community projects in southwestern Pennsylvania.

The Heinz Endowments also gave a total $230,000 to Tides Foundation from 1994 to 1998, but has not given grants to Tides Foundation since. Others associated with Tides, or who have given important donations, include George Soros, David Fenton, Wade Rathke, the New World Foundation, the Charles H. Revson Foundation, ProPublica and the Pew Charitable Trusts.[4]

That should be enough for most here.

True, they don't get it completely right, but they do talk about a lot of things that I didn't know about before and put the situation in a light that most people haven't thought about.. but then again I've never seen a video done that presents the same information where they do get it right. So far this is the best video I've seen about the problem.

Personally, I'd love to take that video and splice in some stuff about banks in third world countries and private property rights and corporatism.. and if you have a video like that, I'd love to see it..

Documentary is truthful to a degree but in turn it wants our children to surrender their consumption compulsions for a slavish devotion to the state. Trading one addiction for another. ;)

The not-so subtle hints are littered throughout the documentary. She's pimping uinversal healthcare and other pet liberal causes as a viable alternative for the resources used in the consumption cycle.

Ya I'll have to watch it again, I've seen in a few times just been a while. I didn't know Soros donated to this thing, that makes it pretty shady for sure...

BUT.. I still think it's worth watching for liberty minded individuals because I'm not concerned about people here falling to socialism, and they do provide a lot of great information that cannot be found elsewhere.

I would admit the film is more dangerous for those who don't understand liberty.

But seriously, if we had a libertarian version of this film, we could totally convert so many environmentalists. Most PEOPLE who consider themselves environmentalists care about the environment, they could give a shit about the "environmental movement". Trust me. It's those who are high up and dependent on the environmental movement for political contributions or whatever who are enslaved to their elitist influences.

Documentary discussed market exploitation and it's effect on indigenous peoples abroad & Americans. However, it's conclusion is toxic, by constantly lauding the indispensable merits of the government. "The underdog government is here to protect us and take care of us in the face of corporate avarice." LOL Very convenient how they separate the two entities and dovetail the noble 'interests' of all mankind and the federal government.

I paraphrased what she said. It's amusing when they show the illustration of the two 'contrasting' entities, the corporate pig man was three times as large as the capitol building, depicting the government as an almost overmatched, sympathetic entity. She also discusses how the government is here to take care of us, look over us and protect us.

It's the government's job to watch out for us, to take care of us. That's their job.

And the government should be represented with a tank. FU.
