Just came across this interesting tidbit:

Ron Paul, Gearing up for 2012? (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2009/10/ron-paul-gearing-up-for-2012.html)

Snip (entire article at link)

Tuesday it was announced that Texas Republican Ron Paul, who wowed the Libertarian crowd during the 2008 election with his call for limited government, is set to deliver an address at the University of South Carolina on Nov. 9 about the “future of individual liberty and the importance of the U.S. Constitution.”

As if that were not enough, the following week he's scheduled to speak in Iowa, that pivotal early caucus state, with stops in Ames and Des Moines.

Nice find.

I don't understand the naysayers on these forums. I just don't get them.

I run 3 libertarian groups, so perhaps I am biased, but I think he can win in 2012. The stars are aligning for a major sea-change in America, a historical moment. I am all in for a win.

I think his age is the biggest issue. Plus, he has to *want* to be president. If he's not in to win, then he probably shouldn't run. The stars are aligning though, and a major sea-change is coming, I'm hopeful.

We must only have 1 Liberty candidate in the race, we need a united front and cannot afford to be split up. If we can overcome the age issue then we're golden!

Paul/Johnson

I dont' care how old he is. He will not run again just to open the possibility of liberty minded candidates. If he decides to do it, he will WANT it.

I'm hopeful. I mean REAL hope, not the current drivel.

I think the fact he his putting his toes in the pool this early shows him testing the waters.

We need to make sure everyone in those areas throw down the red carpte and put on a very big (that media can't hide) warm welcome.

If Ron Paul runs do you think Kokesh would make a good VP?

I think the Judge would be the best choice, if he's up for it

I know this may seem dumb, but my whole life has lead me to this point.

He's not even eligible because of his age. He can't legally be sworn in as President.

AMEN!

2008 was just to let America know he exists, 2012 is to put him in the White House.

Agreed. I'm only 25, but supporting Ron Paul in 2012 would really be the culmination of everything I've felt for my entire life.

i think if either Rand Paul or Peter Schiff win their race for the senate... then i think either of them would be good

They'd be better off staying in the senate. He'll need friends.

I think for name recognition his best bet would be to have Jesse Ventura as his vice president.

Any VP chosen by Paul can't be a member of the CFR or any other globalist organization otherwise Paul's time in the White House would last about 3 days.

Maybe he would in 2020.

When Ron wins, if they pull a Kennedy, it's Total War.
