Our chapter (UW-madison) got together, created an enormous debt clock, and stood at the center of the biggest hot spot on campus to spread awareness to this nation's growing fiscal problems. Many people talked to us and signed up for our campus's YAL mailing list. One kind gentlemen appreciated what we were doing so much and randomly gave us $100 so our group can keep educating people on the issues and hold these type of events. We were reaching people and making people laugh by incorporating an unorthodox style by telling everyone they should trust our government 100% but everyone caught the sarcasm.
The next day a large photo of our debt clock and some of our members made the front page of our campus paper (circulation 15,000+). Please comment on the picture in our school newspaper and thank them for giving us amazing publicity. The college kids who write this paper love to hear people commenting on their articles and are more apt to write about YAL the more people comment, so comment!!
