Within his first week of campaigning, Graney raised in excess of $15,000. He called the support “overwhelming” and “humbling and inspirational.”

I wonder if any of this is self-funded. Probably.

Either way, cash on hand (http://www.opensecrets.org/races/summary.php?id=TX14&cycle=2010):

Paul: $2,047,127
John Gay: $2,242 ($2,250 debt)
Wall: $1,107 ($437 debt)
Cherry: $449 ($781 debt)

Four republican primary challengers (and no democrats yet)....against an incumbent who has one of the top warchests in congress and slaugtered his last two republican primary opponents in the last two election cycles (Sinatra and Peden). Who knew there were so many sad oppotunists in Texas?

Katy, TX? That is on the other side of Houston in a different district, is he moving or something?

I guess Texas only requires you live in-state.

These guys are filing in part on the off chance that RP drops dead just before the primary.

I would think the people in Paul's district would love him even more now. Considering what he has been warning about for so many years and doing his best to fight, is sadly coming to fruition.

True. I would be surprised if this latest opponent doesn't get crushed. But it's understandable that the masters of the fed would put forward at least some kind of opposition.

Perhaps a result of when they redistricted his area inorder to add more democrats and get rid of him.....

I noticed all the opponents are already in debt. No doubt Mr. Graney will operate with a deficit also.

Ho-hum. :p
