Sorry about all the TV commercial threads, but this is big news! Due to some confusion going around, I've created this thread to hammer out specifics.

The first TV commercials are airing starting TONIGHT on Fox News Channel in the following areas of New Hampshire:

03031
Amherst, NH
03034*
Candia, NH
03036
Chester, NH
03043
Francestown, NH
03048
Greenville, NH
03051
Hudson, NH
03052
Litchfield, NH
03053
Londonderry, NH
03054
Merrimack, NH
03055
Milford, NH
03057
Mont Vernon, NH
03070
New Boston, NH
03071
New Ipswich, NH
03076
Pelham, NH
03084
Temple, NH
03086
Wilton, NH
03087
Windham, NH
03442
Bennington, NH
03449
Hancock, NH
03452
Jaffrey, NH
03458

03811

03819
Danville, NH
03848
Kingston, NH
03858
Newton, NH

The Fox News TV commercials will be airing all week in those areas of NH. A total of 12 spots will air, and they were $90 a piece when I purchased them, for a total of $1,080. The TV commercial for the Fox News spots that will air all this week can be viewed HERE: http://www.spotrunner.com/Ads/Host/Play.aspx?cde=A1PK

IN ADDITION to the Fox News spots airing this week in the Merrimack/Londonderry areas of NH 4pm-12am, we will be airing THIS commercial: http://www.alcpac.com/rp_30sec_ver4.mov
on WMUR-TV (Channel 9, ABC) the only affiliate in New Hampshire. NBC, FOX, and CBS all run out of Boston. We will be airing the commercial on Close-Up NH (Sundays 10am-10:30am) ALL MONTH, along with other shows yet to be determined. Close-Up is a Sunday morning political talk show in NH. The total cost of the Close-Up ads, along with the spots that will be airing on other shows month-long, is $5,000/week, for approximately 45 spots ($400+ a piece). That means I need to raise $20,000 for this month-long ad campaign in NH.

I'm accepting donations on opnh.org (credit card/PayPal) or PayPal: donate@opnh.org

On top of the New Hampshire ads, commercial week #1 will be Oct. 22 - Oct. 29. Participating Meetup groups, about 10 of them, will be airing the Op NH/ALCPAC commercials in their own localities during the 1st commercial week. They have a choice of 3 ads, the 2 I've already posted and this one: http://www.spotrunner.com/Ads/Host/Play.aspx?cde=AQGE which is being edited and will be complete by Wednesday. For Meetups that are participating in commercial week #1, the deadline to purchase their airtime is Oct. 8 and instructions for doing so are listed on http://www.opnh.org/meetup.html

Now, that's what's being done currently. My question to you guys is, is this a complete waste of time and money, or something you find worthwhile? If you find it worthwhile, donations help tremendously and getting your Meetup to participate in our commercial weeks does as well. All info about commercial week is on the site opnh.org/meetup.html. Also, I love hearing everyone's ideas!

One of the debates is which TV commercial is better: the mosaic ad with a single voice, or with multiple voices. Vote on it, and that's which one we'll use in the future (the multiple voices one has already been shipped to the TV station [WMUR] in New Hampshire but we can change it for future use). The original mosaic ad is here: http://www.alcpac.com/rp_30sec_ver2.mov the newest version is here: http://www.alcpac.com/rp_30sec_ver4.mov

Personally, I believe TV ads are the most effective and reach out to the most households for our purposes, but they require time and money. Radio, newspapers, direct mailings, flyovers, etc are a good addition and supplement to the TV ads, but cannot replace TV ads. We cannot predict what the official campaign is going to do, so we're doing this in support of them from the grassroots. Time is short, the need for good publicity is urgent. Thank you for your time and help!

Oh **** I forgot to add the poll about which mosaic ad is better and now it won't let me. Just post your vote.

Good news!

Does anyone out there know how to use Alexa to see if hits to the RP2008.com website go up in the NH area after these air? Or if Google searches go up in the same manner in that area?

Awesome stuff skiingff... Proud to be a part of this effort (as usual).

I like the multi-voice mosaic ad the best out of the two. It seems to go
along with the theme of the ad better than the single voice one.

I'm interested to hear about people actually seeing the ads running.

These are exciting times.

Enjoy.

That little kids voice doesn't annoy you?

No it doesn't. Not at all. Then again I have 2 children of my own that have forced me to get used to whining kids so take that for what it's worth. :-)

One point to make I think is that this is a grassroots ad. It will not be completely polished and professional and it doesn't need to be. It just needs to effectively get Ron Paul's name and message out there.

If some people find the kid's voice annoying, then maybe they'll notice the commercial more. :-)

Enjoy.

I like the lone voice better. But I would really like to see it re-recorded with a more professional voice.

Who knows how to setup a poll on here?

I don't like the little kid voices either.

I'd say hire a professional voice-over guy.

The mosaic one could use some text on the screen. For many people the visual element is what sticks (or what if they have the volume muted). Anyways we really appreciate what you are doing!

I highly recommend setting up a Chip In at chipin.com when you are trying to raise money like this. It is easy, free, and it hooks into your paypal account.

http://chipin.com

It will be like your own "thermometer". People like to watch and keep track. It keeps them motivated too.

Good luck!
